Bitch please. McCain is a moderate like Romney and Christie. A part of the establishment of the party that picks and chooses who gets to run and win. Pick Christie and it's another loss. It is estimated that in the 2008 election, 30 million evangelical Christians stayed home on voting day and Obama won the election by 10 million votes. keep them home if you want, but don't come crying to me if you're paying eight dollars a gallon for gas or can't get in to see a doctor because all the waiting rooms are filled with dead beats.
Then you will have 30 million independent and moderate voters voting for the Democratic candidate. Demographically the religious right is shrinking with every election while the Hispanic block is increasing. Meanwhile the GOP does everything they can to pander to the shrinking block and piss off the growing one. Until they reverse this they are going to lose every election no matter who runs for them. It's not as much of a loss to have 30 million people who normally vote for you stay at home as it is to have 30 million people who would normally vote for you vote for the other guy instead.
As for 2016 the Republican party leadership will have Mt. Rushmore sized rocks in their head if the ticket is anything besides Christie/Rubio. I haven't the faintest clue who the Democrats will run. If Obamacare ends up being the fuck up it should be it won't matter.
