I hope it's all up to Biden...he's had his foot in his mouth for the last 20 yrs. Ryan is pretty sharp in a Young Republican kind of way- policy-wonky enough, smart enough, and current enough to connect with swing voters. If Ryan can avoid appearing smug he should do well.
This looks like a wash to me, so far. Neither one seems able to build any momentum with their replies or deliver a point solidly.

It's pretty clear that Biden's objective was to shore up the base. He probably did that. The problem for team Obama is that it is the independents and until-recently-undecideds who are moving to Romney in droves. Biden's performance did nothing to change that.
Early post-debate polls are showing that Ryan was the winner by about 10-15%. That just isn't good enough.
At this point, if Romney pulls down Ohio, he should win the electoral vote. Most polls are showing Romney with a small lead in Ohio. In the past week, Obama has lost Florida, North Carolina and Virginia. He's probably going to lose Colorado and Nevada also.

Speaking just for me, the tradition R opposition to porn doesn't bother me. The genie is out of the bottle on that one. Same with my other bugaboo weed. They're both luxury items...entertainment, I guess. And both will be available no matter who's running the show.

I voted today. There was someone in the parking garage by the stairwell handing out Democratic sample ballots. I used it to see who was endorsed down ballot for judges and school board slots. The place was busy, but efficient. Lots of blacks voting. Democrats will probably do well in Montgomery County, Ohio again this year. I hope the library levy passes, the parks levies always do, so I'm optimistic. I voted for the bar at the end of the street to get a Sunday liquor license, and stopped by there for a Rueben sandwich after I voted.
Hard to take seriously folks who compare Obama supporters to nazi sympathizers, and guys with racist avatars. On a gag factor message board. Hence the .gif.
Elections matter. Why Obama? Many reasons - social issues, Supreme Court, a path for sustainable growth. A foreign policy I can mostly stand behind. Health care reform. We can afford to have a decent array of government services and a safety net. I can't see electing people who dislike government programs to run government programs.
I'll never understand how Boosh got close enough to steal the 2004 election. I was against almost everything he did.
IF I thought Romney/Ryan could get Congress to craft a budget that gave a 20% tax cut across the board, didn't hit the middle class, beefed up military spending, and still addressed the deficit without gutting the safety net and essential services, hell, I'd vote for them. It just doesn't add up, and I defy anyone to show how it can be done.

I'm all for safety nets, but as I've said, we need to have a serious discussion about who is eligible for safety nets and for how long. Until we're able to do that, we're just jacking off.
As for essential services, which ones have only been "essential" since the New Deal? Are free cell phones essential? Will the Union survive without PBS? Oh, I know, it's only a drop in the bucket. They're all just drops. But somehow the bucket is overflowing. That's a lot of drops. So we do nothing. It's just a drop.
A foreign policy that gives the representative of our government in Paris a more substantial security detail than the one in fucking Libya. Do you not think that episode gives our enemies all over the world a hard on?
No, Romney doesn't have all the answers. Not by a long shot. But the fact remains that President Obama has failed. It's time for a new employee.
