It's interesting to note that two things are happening at the same time in California.
1. The California Real Estate market 'bubble' has finally burst, and the prices of homes are in a virtual freefall.
2. Porn has finally become 'safe'.
Both these events were long overdue. The prices of homes had not kept up with income, that is, unless that income came from illegal endeavors or extensive borrowing; and the outlandish shock factor of porn, specifically 'gonzo' porn, had reached all-time stupidity levels, with the risks far outwieghing the good.
However, there is one main difference between these two events...
...The Aftermath.
If you happen to own a home now, and you see your value dropping like a stone, you have things you can do to soften the blow. For home owners who took the bait and borrowed against their equity, it's time to move to Nebraska, Iowa, Montana, or any other states where the homes are cheap, and the land is open.
For the owners of porn companies, however, this scenario need not apply.
Ira Levine is simply dead wrong, folks.
The new regulations aren't going to hurt porn one bit.
In fact, I predict porn will become cool, that is, justifiably cool, within the next decade.
Things are going to get BETTER due to these new regulations.
Is it time to go shooting in foreign countries?
Is it time to go underground?
Is it time to freak out and clutter up message boards with a bunch of crap about challenging this, and challenging that?
Nope.
It's time to think POSITIVELY.
The only people who will be leaving the state of Calfornia are those who borrowed against their equity, and need to sell their homes now to avoid a loss.
Porn companies simply need to follow the guidelines set forth by Cal-OSHA, and, while taking an initial hit getting set up to follow those guidelines, these same companies- by playing by the rules- will reap huge profits on down the road.
Did seatbelts put automobile manufacturers out of business?
Nope.
It is my sincere belief, which all of you should listen to- since I am rarely wrong- that these regulations-
-are going to make porn COOL.
If young women and men are NOT getting HURT by doing porn, there will be absolutely NO REASON for porn to be looked down upon, or outlawed.
There's a NEW Golden Age of Porn coming, folks, and it's just around the corner. Socially Accepted, Legally Protected.
I would advise those who DID NOT borrow against the equity of their home to stay put in California, and ride the storm out. I would also advise porn producers to do the same thing.
The alternative, however, is also a positive...
...These two new, major events in California may just prove to be the straws the broke the camel's back when it comes to a pet peeve of mine:
The stupid people may have to pack up and leave.
And yes, ladies and gentlemen, that would be a very, very good thing for the State of California.
Let's see how tough you all are, instead of all the whining and moaning.
Ira Levine is a moron.
David Aaron Clark is the man you should be listening to.
I bet you Mr. Clark didn't borrow against his equity.
LOL.
