Maybe if the EPA were an actual enforcement agency, like it was meant to be, and not a regulation writing agency bent on infinite self expansion, it would be able to ensure more wells are in compliance.

Did you know that crude oil and natural gas was a NORM, a naturally occurring radioactive material? Mostly because of the water and radon gas that is extracted with them. People who do pipeline and refinery work have to be careful about the stuff the builds up at pipe joints and on pipe threads. This has been known about forever, quit trying to scare people with the radioactive boogeyman. It can be dangerous, but contained and dealt with, and has been for a long time.
