I think it's less about being hip than it is being tired of pussyfooting around these people. They're like that meth addled neighbour in your building that you have to be careful what you say around because anything can set him off. It gets old blaming everyone but him for his bullshit. Do we apologize or try to understand what we did wrong to piss off the Westboro Baptist Church? Of course, we don't. We look at them as the whackjobs they are. We call them on their shit. And they don't even kill diplomats.

Another odd thing. We're RACISTS (I'm not going to italicize for effect...congrats on you doing it...and doing it well...don't let anyone tell you otherwise), the most evil beings on Earth, yet we're not rampaging through the streets. We're "swinging our dicks", yet the only ones who turn that into action are our Semite bretheren rampaging in the streets.

How can we even nuke them into the Stone Age? Look at the thinking: someone on the other side of the world says shit about our God, let's hit the streets and burn American flags, trash the local KFC, and murder anyone who doesn't look like us. How do you have a discussion with that 8th Century mindset?

I said it before, and I'm sticking to it: Some people cannot handle freedom. I don't like it, because one of my real core beliefs is everyone having self determination. Sadly, some people need a heavy handed leader with a hungry secret police to keep the citizens centered.

It's not dick wagging. It's finally admitting this is the time we live in, and that to survive and thrive in it we may have to rethink some of our core beliefs.
