I've been off wandering the world again, this time to Costa Rica for a week of surfing and drinking along the Pacific Coast. Did the requisite zipline thing, a booze cruise with snorkeling, carousing with surfer girls and what not. If you've never been, check it out!

Wish I'd known you were going- I coulda given you a few suggestions. We didn't do the Pacific side but covered the interior and the Caribbean.

I hope you drank a truckload of Imperials...ice cold on a hot Costa Rican day it's the best beer in the world.

I had 40 Imperials during the week, at least. Somehow managed to lay off the liquor, but then again surf lessons often started at 6 AM and no one wants a whiskey hangover for that shit. Being the rainy season, I figured the volcanoes would be shrouded in clouds and a good target for the next, dry-season visit. Either way, it was awesome and I can't wait to go back.

The Arenal volcano and the town nearby, LaFortuna are great places. We got an incredible deal so while there we stayed at the Tabacon resort. I don't recommend dropping that kind of cash for a room though, but a day pass to Tabacon's hotsprings would definitely be worth it.

We traveled in a rented SUV and must have stopped at 30 or more Sodas along the way. 30-40 miles of Costa Rican road...Tico Tacos and an Imperial just seem to go together.

wow looks amazing there...I havent been on a vacation in about 4+ years now...even my family that had a summer home in the Hamptons sold that, so I couldnt even enjoy that. Money hungry bastards. Fucked all around, so no living the high life for me in quite some time

I understand being stuck, bodies at rest tend to stay at rest.

I have to force myself to buy the ticket first, instead of worrying about this or that, hurricanes or earthquakes, malaria or underwear bombers, etc. Then, once the airfare has been paid and I'm committed, everything else seems to fall into place.

Sometimes you've just gotta say "fuck it", and go.
