I actually have enjoyed the recent Buzz Aldrin attention whoring. Until today. I really find it distasteful today. It's an emotion that has kind of thrown me some.

Not getting political political, but Romney said something to the effect that the "moon has lost it's first son". It was poetic in it's simplicity. To me at least.

Isn't it amazing that in less than 75 years mankind went from first powered flight to putting a man on the moon...and getting him back safe. Even for a man, for the man, it was way beyond a small step.

We go to the moon not because it is easy, but because it is hard. Frightening how that spirit can die so quickly and with such finality.
