I think hot-linked photos somehow mess with the view-counter. Every thread with a lot of pics in it gets an unusually high number of page views. That's why the Latest Purchase thread has something like 1.4million page views.

Latest Purchase has been around for over 4 years, and has 4400 replies, many of them Panzer's lessons in Advanced Jew Skills. I think its #'s are solid.

Maybe Google Image Search and the like have some affect, but picture threads are lurker threads. Someone stumbles across the Hottest Pic Thread for the first time tomorrow, they are probably good for 15-20 page views in there. Or maybe they make it 3 pages in before tiring, and hit the Back button 3 times to get out to the forum, that's 6 views. They are just easier to rack up views in than a discussion thread.

Since I posted that, Latest Purchase has gotten over 400 more views and no one has posted a new message there in 5 days. Something is messing with the numbers.
