Of course, you of all people would jump to post on a Robert Blake thread.
Because I actually do have a bachelor's degree degree in criminal justice (of course it's from Penn State....Ugh!!!!!)? You know I love you and your sardonic wit Gia! Ha ha ha!

Anyway, I was actually surprised to see Blake came out of seclusion because I thought he had actually decided to disappear forever after he beat the rap (or rather LA County failed miserably in their effort to prosecute him), but I wasn't surprised to see he had a meltdown. I always thought he was mentally unbalanced...even way back when I was a kid and I'd see him on Carson. I just don't have a clue what he thought he had to gain by going on there. I guess he's trying to promote some upcoming memoir or something...but still.

To be honest, I was also rather surprised how poorly LA County did in their efforts to successfully prosecute people in high profile cases back in those days. At least they managed to get Phil Spector...though it did take two tries in that case. I don't know if it's the juries not understanding that "reasonable doubt" does not mean "all doubt," that most people who get stuck on juries aren't usually the brightest, or a poor job on the part of the prosecutors, or a combination thereof, but I still don't understand how Blake, Simpson, et.al. managed to beat the rap when any reasonable person knew they did it. At least they got Simpson in the end....for something unrelated...but still.
