Definitely looks like the video was shot in Bubba's bedroom.

I went to the Extreme Reunion tonight. I'll start off by telling you about Sabu, in case you don't follow TMZ. Shane Douglas came out before the main event, in which he was supposed to face Sabu. He told the crowd that Sabu was found unresponsive in his hotel room, and that he was at the hospital. He said they had been contacted by TMZ for info, but they didn't have any. My opinion: If dude was MIA all day, and then found unresponsive in his hotel room, dude was dead int he hotel room, but they gotta find family and tell them, before they can tell the press. I don't know shit, and I hope he's ok (they said it was an allergic reaction to medication) but that is my guess.

Before the show started, they did a video tribute to all the fallen guys and girls that wrestled in ECW. No Benoit. Eddie Guerrero got the loudest pop.

People had little kids there. A fucking 3 year old shouldn't have been there. You shouldn't bring little kids anywhere that multiple "YOU SUCK DICK" chants are going to break out and Joel Gertner is going to cut a promo. There were enough lil kids in the joint that they shoulda had a corner penned off for them. One drunk a couple rows behind me was there with like a 3y/o and a 7 y/o and swearing up a storm.

Jerry Lynn/Devon Storm was the best match of the night. It was supposed to be Lynn/Justin Credible, who was there earlier. No reason was given for the switch. Storm got busted up pretty bad, like between the forehead and temple, he was bleeding like a pig. I think it happened during a spot where Storm set up a section of guard rail on the ring and the rail, then Jerry wound up suplexing him on it 5 minutes later. After the match, Jerry thanked the fans that made ECW great and said he was retiring at the end of the year. The "YOU STILL GOT IT" chant that broke out was touching.

Balls/Axl was a pretty good match, chair shots, weapons and blood. Al Snow/CW Anderson wasn't, arm locks, head locks, and way too many cheap pops using the head, before, during and after the match.

New Jack and Mustafa didn't really have a match. Some dude that was in the Baldies came out and cut a promo that they interrupted. They beat the shit outta him. Jack had some Wolverine type brass knuckle knives he cut the dude's head with. Then some local tag team came out, and scrumbled with them to the back.

Raven was supposed to wrestle Pit Bull 1. He brought out 3 dudes that jumped the Pitbull and beat him down, while Raven yapped into the mic. Then the Sandman came out and spent 10 minutes drinking his way through the crowd before fuckin suckas up w/ the kendo stick.

He even caned the handicapped guy Raven brought into the ring. Dude had to be fireman's carried to the ring and rolled in. Then he had to be leaned up against the ropes and use a cane to stay vertical. When they were beating the Pitbull down in the corner, one of Raven's henchman THREW the handicapped guy down on him. Handy man was wearing a "Limpin Aint Easy" shirt. If I was betting, I'd say the guy had CP.

2 Cold Scorpio took Sabu's place in the main event. Him and Shane beat the shit out of each other. Shane may be to fat to take his shirt off, be he can still put on a good slobber knocker. They fought right past me up into the bleachers. While they were scrumbling their way to the top and down and back up again, I had to hold the ref from falling off once or twice. I think Shane busted his nose, because he was bleeding like a bastard from his nose and mouth. Dude came out with a mask on, to do a double cross run in, wound up hitting Shane in the grill with an elbow. Took the mask off and it was Kevin Sullivan. Some other guy did a run in at the end, but I go no clue who. Got some nice video of Shane getting kicked in the face, when they were on the floor a foot a way from me. I'm going to have to buy the DVD, to see what I look like on TV. If the camera adds 10 pounds, its going to look like I ate a lot of cameras.

After the show, my buddy and I hit a diner, on our way to the casino. White guy and a black guy get seated right behind me. As I sat side ways in the booth, I saw the guy had tattoos on the back of his neck and was wearing a skull cap or something like that. When I see them coming back from the salad bar, I think its New Jack. They sit down and the black guy says to his friend, "I heard Shane got legit hurt."

I open my yap, and say, "He was bleeding from the mouth pretty bad..." was gonna say that he probably broke his nose, but:

New Jack turns to me, looks me dead in the eyes, and says, "WHO...are you?"

"Just some asshole that was at the show, man."

"Well, I was talking to HIM," as he points at his friend, but looking directly at me.

"Sorry man," and I turned around.

My buddy gets back from taking a leak and we get back to bullshitting. After a few minutes, I hear New Jack say, "Hey man, what's your name?" as he puts out his hand. I turn side ways again, tell him my name, and shake his hand, "I'm sorry I bit your head off." He went on to say he was in a bad mood, and vaguely why. I said "that's ok. I understand. I got no problems. Shit happens."

About 10-15 minutes after that he comes to my booth with 2 DVDs. Said he wanted to apologize again. He musta went to his car and got me the 2 DVDs of his. He autographed one. As I picked them up, I said, "Holy shit! Thanks man. Is one of them your YouShoot, I've seen clips of it." He told me one of them was his latest shoot, where he talks about Teri Runnels. I told him he didn't have to do that, but thanks. Later, when my buddy and I got up to leave, I turned, held up the DVDs, and thanked him again.

Then I went and lost $140 at the casino.

I got a cool pic of me and the Sandman at the show. Cost $10, but worth it. During the intermission, a bunch of the boys were hanging out at the back of the crowd.

There was a really hot midget sitting about 10' from us. I texted my buddy that we should grab her, throw her in the trash can, and run outta there with her. He must not be into midgets, so all he did was laugh. She didn't have the normal midget face. It was like a cute face, stretched over a midget's wonky head.

Oh, and they brought some stripper into the ring for some filler. I went out to have a cigarette. Well there was a hot attention whore Asian chick in like the 3rd row, that stood up on her chair and flashed her tits to the crowd. I missed it frown When she walked by us later, my buddy told her that her tits were really nice, and she thanked him.

I couldn't find the charger for my digital camera, so I had to rock the cell phone camera, not so good. The way the lights were set up, the friggin thing went to low light mode, and the ring lights made a big blob in the middle of the pics. Here's one of New Jack though, going to the top rope.

One of the Armory, before the event started.

Blue Meany. Him and Stevie Richards put on a decent match w/ the FBI. Lil Guido and him did a thumb wrestling spot that got a good laugh from the crowd. Ref was on the mat trying to get the three count, and they were kicking out.

My buddy got this pic of Balls, after his match, thumb tack still in his arm. They busted out some cheese graters during their match too. Cheese grater will fuck your ass up.

The place was fucking packed. They were selling standing room at the door for $20. I'm not a good judge of crowds (1000-2000, I don't know) but they made fucking money, and the DVD sales will probably be good. They are already selling tickets to their next show, June 30. Earlier in the night I heard they are trying to build it into a regular thing. If so, I hope Kevin Sullivan is around to book, and not just a one off.

Every time I re-read this mess, to edit out my fuck ups, I remember something else. Unfortunately I have another memory that is haunting me. The 400 pound dude that sat in front of us had a BO thing going on. Like feet, dookie and sweat. I was tempted to go get some buffalo wings, just to rub some of the sauce in to my mustache, and block it out. I can still kinda smell him.

Dude cut and pasted this on another site:

"Justin Credible Removed From Extreme Reunion Event
Posted By Andy Steven on Sunday, April 29th, 2012
More Sharing ServicesShare Share on facebook Share on twitter Share on googlebuzz Share on facebook_like

Justin Credible was removed from the Extreme Reunion show. Credible was advertised to wrestle Jerry Lynn, with Devon “Crowbar” Storm being added to the match as a surprise, reports PWInsider.

There were concerns regarding Credible’s condition backstage over the course of the show. Sources claim at one point, he was “slumped over, passed out asleep” in a chair. He was asked to leave the building and was removed from the show.

After leaving the building, Credible returned and pleaded his case to the promoters, asking to be placed back on the show, however he was turned down. He came out and walked around in the crowd late in the show then was walked to the back and left the venue."

I saw Justin hanging around the gimmick tables at the back of the arena, before the show. He was chatting with fans. From a distance, he didn't seem out of sorts.

I don't know how TMZ reported Sabu MIA all day, when there was a dude with a room key there. There was a fan fest between 9am and 1pm, then the show was to start at 7pm. I don't think it started until about 7:30-8PM, and there was a lot of filler in there at the beginning.

That sounds pretty fucking cool, jerk. Although I have trouble imagining the matches being too compelling outside of a live atmosphere. Guys are just too old, man.

Yeah, that is why Raven talked, and Sandman just did his cane spot. Pitbull looked to be in decent shape. Shane and Scorpio were over weight, but they worked a fun match, that went for a while. BWO/FBI was a lot of comedy, but that is what they were anyway. I mean, there was a lot of shmaltz in the night, it wasn't an 80's Starrcade, but the only terrible match was Snow/Anderson.

There was one jobber tag match to start the show, and then a hatchet job of run in while 2 jobbers were being announced for their match, where no one knew who the guy was that ran to the ring, cut a promo, then split through the crowd.
The crowd was nuts. Half the time you couldn't hear what the announcer was saying, because he was getting booed so bad, and Shut The Fuck Up chants. Jerry Lynn said what he found great about the ECW crowd was that they'd chant "You Fucked Up" then 30 seconds later, switch it to "You Are Awesome."

I didn't buy tickets for the next event while I was there, but I'll keep an eye out to see who is on the card, and more than likely go. I'll have to go to the fan fest, if for no other reason than to thank New Jack again.

Very cool. I think events like that belong in small halls, casinos, that sort of thing. A more intimate atmosphere, for lack of a better term.

I can't imagine Sabu not doing tons of painkillers on a regular basis. The truth, in some fashion, will come out. Hoping it all works out well.

It is dumb luck that Jersey is in such a hot bed. NWA and WWF both used to run Philly. During the Monday Night Wars, Philly, the Meadowlands, and MSG had shows all the time. If I had the money back then, I could have also done short trips to North East PA, Baltimore, Long Island to see them at major venues. Then ECW would run any hall they could put 500 seats in, for really next to nothing. I should have gone to more ECW events than just one, but I was a broke shit head back then. Now WWE runs b-shows in Trenton's minor league hockey stadium (Smackdown, WWECW when that was around, house shows).

Pic of Sabu from earlier in the day yesterday, from Aldo Montoya's Facebook. Poor bastard.

Well, sources say that Sabu signed himself outta the hospital today, and he is only saying he's fine, when he is asked.

Great non wrestling related quote from the TMZ article on Sabu, describing North East Philly to a T:

"Ahhh, Trevose, PA. Such memories! The lovely hotels that dot Route 1 on the way to Neshaminy Mall. The Krispy Kreme store right next to a beer place and the hookeriest motel in the universe. Top that off with "Debbie Does (insert town here)" through the slats of the wooden fence at the Lincoln Drive-in...
No man deserves to draw their final breaths in Trevose. "

I hadn't seen the Sabu pic until now. Dude's given his body to the business and has nothing to show for it but a limp and a million ugly scars. I don't see him as a greeter at Target.

It aint all like that. But the North East is the same as anywhere, once the manufacturing jobs left a city, the only people around were the ones that didn't require well paying jobs (drugged out hookers, welfare types, crooked politicians). North East Philly, Camden, Trenton, they are smaller versions of Detroit, but the jobs left longer ago. All of them need to be evacuated and burned to the ground. Where is the Illuminati when you need them?

You gotta' hand it to Shane. He recognized everything that was wrong with the show and shows that he is willing to put up the effort to improve it. Not very typical of Mr. Douglas to own up to mistakes.

Here's an excellent write up on the event. It's fucking long, so I'll spoiler it so I don't clog up the thread.

Click to reveal..
EXTREME REUNION: THE TRAINWRECK - A LOOK AT WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED AND WHY
by Mike Johnson @ 11:16 AM on 4/30/2012

Since Extreme Reunion went down this past Saturday, I don't think I've ever had more requests from wrestlers who actually worked a show to write about an event, much less from readers waiting to see how the show really was from my perspective.

Well, it was Extreme all right, an Extreme Trainwreck. I've already done a live play by play of the show, so if you want to read that and get a sense of what the show was like as it was taking place, feel free to go track down. I really have no interest in re-living that aspect of things but I want to go over a few points as to why the show bombed as bad as it did, especially in a building holding over 2,000 fans that *WANTED* to have a good time and enjoy themselves.

Watching that show was an amazing, AMAZING education in how to take an audience that was jazzed and happy and making them miserable. The show starting 45 minutes late couldn't be helped since the PA Commission Doctor wasn't there and while some will blame that for the crowd issues, that wasn't the case. These are fans who came to have fun and fans who are used to shows starting late. So, let's review exactly why this failed and why a whole lot of people need to start making apologies to the audience.

The Sabu situation.

I don't care who's to blame for this but when you take put a bunch of people who enable each other and act toxic with each other in the same place for 48 hours, you are going to get people who do stupid, toxic things. Well, it bit Extreme Reunion in the ass with the loss of their main eventer, Sabu.

Over the course of the night, as word spread over the situation after we broke the news here on PWInsider.com, the crowd became more and more upset, partially because of the way the show was going but also because, quite frankly, ECW fans don't like to get lied to. Mind you, the first time anything official was said by anyone about Sabu not being there was when Shane Douglas got in the ring during a pre-main event promo and that was by the point that the crowd was already ugly and chanting for refunds. Douglas, either completely lost in character or completely stupid, thought he was getting heel heat and turned to the fans and said, "Let's get this straight, I work you, you don't work me." That was a brilliant thing to say because the audience took it as meaning Shane and his friends just worked them out of their money and didn't deliver Sabu.

This show played off the ECW intellectual property and no matter how you feel about that, the reality is that they presented this as if it was the return of ECW. Well, when you play off that ECW intellectual property and you expect ECW fans to show up, you damn well better treat them like ECW fans. ECW fans were never, ever lied to by Paul Heyman. You can say whatever you want about Paul bouncing checks and lying to the boys, but when the shows got screwed up, Heyman was out there at the start of the show, offering a refund by intermission and some sort of explanation. Hell, he once fired Sabu, his biggest drawing card, publicly, when Sabu missed a main event in 1995. Now, we go to 2012 and it's the exact opposite situation, where the promotion is ignoring the fact they don't have one of their main eventers until its the end of the show. Had they offered refunds, the reality is NO ONE WOULD HAVE LEFT, since they were already there - but they also would have shown fans the respect those fans deserved. Instead, Shane Douglas came off looking like someone trying to work the fans out of their last dollar and that audience isn't going to respond well to that.

They screwed their top paying fans.

When the show was announced, the top ticket price was $100 and was to include a collectible take-home commemorative chair. In the past, other similar ECW themed projects run by Jeremy Borash with Shane Douglas' input have done the same. So, when you announce something for fans that are paying top ticket price for the show, you damn well better freaking deliver.

What did those 100-120 fans that paid $100 get for their trouble? Well, to start, there are no commemorative chairs. They are all told that the chairs will be given out after the show. Well, after the show, these fans are waiting around for over an hour and well, there are no chairs!

Some fans were given chairs, which were pretty much taken from the building and signed by a few random wrestlers, but in speaking to some, that came off as more of an insult than anything else. Who the hell wants an old, beat up chair with 2-5 autographs on it? Great way to remember that night! Not.

Other fans were left to tap-dance with some of the promoters in some way to make-good "for the next show" and that might be OK for some, but what about the fans that came from Chicago and Kentucky and other States that won't be coming back to the next show? They just get bent over?

There is only one solution to this. Extreme Reunion had 100 days to get those chairs made and even if they were just new chairs with some sort of sticker on them, they dropped the ball and should be ashamed of themselves for it. The only way to make good on this is to have those chairs made and signed by the entire roster of their next show and pay for those chairs to be shipped to those who paid for front row seats.

Extreme Reunion wants to be the new ECW? Well, when ECW TV went off the air in NYC, they offered tapes to the fans that came to the Elks Lodge as a thank you. The one show where those tapes weren't available, they took everyone's names and addresses and mailed them the tapes. If you want to play off the ECW intellectual property and want fans to take you seriously, you show fans that you respect them.

They had 100 plus days to prepare for this show. To not have those chairs ready, waiting and available for the members of the audience who paid the most to be there is nothing less than disgusting and insulting. If they don't make it up to the fans by giving them what they were promised, it's equally disgusting.

For all the crap Shane Douglas talked about Dixie Carter raping ECW fans and paying talent $250 (which is a lie by the way, even the referees got $500 plus all their food, trans and hotels paid for), then how is he any different? Answer is - he's not. Make good to the fans and stop with the bulls*** shooting. It's all garbage and that was proven on Saturday. No fan deserves not to get what they paid for, especially the fans THAT PAID TOP DOLLAR FOR YOUR SHOW.

The booking only served to ruin the show, not enhance it.

With the exception of Jerry Lynn vs. Devon "Crowbar" Storm, which was outstanding, none of the second half of the show worked. The audience became more and more unruly because they were offered something, a chance to enter the ECW atmosphere again with promises that the wrestlers were going to "reignite the sport" and that they were working out and getting into better shape and that this was the chance to kick things off again. Well, 2200 fans bought that and wanted to be there for this and this is what they got.

*A tag match that featured no one from ECW opening the show. That match ended up getting over because all four had a good match. Segments like this were exactly how and should have been the only way that new talents were introduced on Saturday, because that was the only way the audience was going to accept them.

*A match with no talents from ECW that featured Luke Hawx hitting the scene and cutting a promo on Shane Douglas that no one could understand due to the sound system being screwed up and parts of the venue not hearing what was going on. Hawx was sent out there and doomed to fail due to poor execution.

*FBI vs. BWO in their standard fun match. This was exactly as it should have been and everyone involved was fine in terms of their work, but once Hawx was involved in the finish, the crowd was like, "What the hell?" because it wasn't what they came to see. They came to have a good time, not get angles to set up Richards vs. Hawx on the next show. So, there was strike one in the booking.

*Al Snow vs. CW Anderson was OK but went on too long and the crowd was getting restless during the time period where Snow's comebacks should have been getting over. Snow's antics with the Head were a lot of fun and the crowd loved this, because they wanted to see the ECW characters, but the actual match, designed to be a long wrestling match, just didn't work in execution because the audience didn't want to see guys working armbars for as long as they did. I can give the bookers a pass on this because it's what I would have wanted the guys to do in that scenario.

*Axl Rotten vs. Balls Mahoney. Obviously these guys have seen better days, but you know what - everything they did got over with the live crowd and the fans loved the match. Say what you will about them, their personalities, their style, their look, whatever - they gave the crowd what they expected out of Axl vs. Balls.

*After intermission is when everything really went to hell. Angel from the Baldies came out for a promo. No one could understand him. This brought out the Gangstas, making their first appearance in the market in over a decade and based on the MONSTER POP, they were who the crowd came to see. They start doing their carnage and the sound guy kills the "Natural Born Killaz". I don't care what the excuse is - WHAT THE EXCUSE IS - but that is a huge part of the act and when you take that away, the crowd deflated live. Then, Philly's Most Wanted hits the ring and lays out The Gangstas. This is when the crowd turns ugly, not because it's heel heat, but because they came to see these legendary names and now they are getting laid out by the unknown guys who lost in the opener. The crowd wasn't buying any of this and that's when the refund chants began. It was at this point that the bookers lost the audience and it was up to them to get them back.

*Unfortunately for all involved, we instead had Raven vs. Pitbull Gary Wolfe as the next match. Even in the original ECW, this wouldn't have been seen as a top-tier main event, although they had their history there and this fit the nostalgia theme. Unfortunately, Raven did nothing. When I say nothing, I mean NOTHING. He came to the ring, cut a promo that s*** all over the crowd, had flunkies who got killed, had a flunky who pinned and walked off. The entire scenario was so bad that not even the Sandman's grand entrance could save it, nor could the sight of Sandman caning the hell out of legitimately crippled guy named "Cripple H." The audience didn't expect the Raven of 1995 but they didn't even get the Raven of 2012. They got Scott Levy cracking jokes and doing anything he could not to actually do anything. That might wash when you are working a small indy in Kentucky in front of 200 fans but when you've got 2000 fans and you are expected to actually, you know, do something, you just raped everyone who cared enough to see you.

The one two punch of the Gangstas getting laid out followed by Raven's crap destroyed the show. Some will blame Raven for it, but you know what, while he did nothing for the audience, its the promotion's fault for using him and letting him get away with it. If you are Raven and can get a payday without having to do a damn thing, why wouldn't you? Well, he did and in doing so, helped murder any chance of this show being well thought of.

*Jerry Lynn vs. Crowbar was next. At this point, the crowd, desperate for anything, is chanting for them to save the show. It wasn't a small muttering but a large "BY GOD, PLEASE SAVE THIS SHOW. PLEASE" amount of decibels in the building. Well, Lynn and Devon Storm did just that. If it hadn't been for this match, which was damn awesome, well, things would have been uglier in the building. This was far and away the only thing on the second half that serviced the legacy and name of ECW and that was from a guy who was a low level performer in ECW before quitting after a few months and a guy who is publicly ready to retire. The scary thing is that Justin Credible was supposed to be in this and given his condition (getting removed from the building several times by management), I shudder to think of what this match might have been if Storm hadn't been booked as a surprise and Credible actually worked.

Before we go any further, I know there will be some in Extreme Reunion who want to blame the audience for being disrespectful at the show. One, there was no alcohol served at the show. Two, if the fans were being disrespectful, they would have booed the hell out of Lynn for talking about retiring and getting out of the business. Instead, when he explained that it was time to listen to his body and exit at the end of the year, he got a standing ovation. This was never a case of the audience being disrespectful to the wrestlers, as some tried to float to me last night.

*Then we got to the main event. Douglas tells everyone, in the vein of a heel promo, that there's no Sabu. The way he says it makes part of the audience think the guy is dead, which only made the audience feel like they didn't want to be there. So, they left. Lots of people walked out over the course of the main event, which for a show designed to kick off a new era, well, it's the exact opposite of what you want. Scorpio replaces Sabu, which isn't what the audience wanted. They tried but Scorpio couldn't do much with the Shane Douglas of 2012. Part of the problem with Douglas in the ring now is sort of like what Indiana Jones said in the Raiders of the Lost Ark. "It's not the years honey, it's the mileage." There's a lot of mileage on Douglas and you can't expect 49 year old Shane to be the Shane of 1994. The problem is that with all his rants about everyone else, he's ignoring the fact that he's now older than Ric Flair was when he was calling Flair out. I'm not saying he shouldn't wrestle but he can't present himself the same way anymore, especially on a show where he promoted for months that they were waiting for to give guys to get in shape before launching, and he's working the main event in a t-shirt. They give the fans two surprises in masks - one being Kevin Sullivan and the other being Tod Gordon. I love both but the audience had no idea who either were, which led me to believe that these were fans who wanted to find ECW for themselves after hearing about it or watching it on TV and not being able to go because they were too young. Or, maybe the crowd was just dead by that point. Shane going over didn't help matters because the audience saw it as a promoter who didn't deliver what he promised giving them one last "f*** you" on the way out the door by putting himself over.

The introduction of new talents was atrocious.

I know that internally, they wanted this to be a show that would kick off storylines and a new series of events. The plan here was to try and relaunch an ECW-style promotion in some fashion and find roles for the older guys as a way to bridge things while talents that can still go are intermingled with newer guys waiting to break out. The problem there was that all the younger guys were booked in positions to fail because they were introduced too soon and in ways that just pissed off the crowd. The audience came to see their ECW favorites, not to see Philly's Most Wanted lay out The Gangstas or Luke Hawx screw a BWO vs. FBI match.

To that audience, who were clearly not familiar with guys that regularly worked in Philly that were from Philly, it was like watching Terry Gibbs screw up the British Bulldogs vs. The Hart Foundation. It only served to piss off the audience. It was a case of too much, too soon and by running angles of that style on the debut show, they only served to piss off the paying audience. The fans were there to see their old ECW favorites doing something similar to what they used to do. They tried to hit a home run, when all the fans wanted was a few singles and a ground rule double to be happy. The bookers completely overshot their load and ended up pissing away a lot of goodwill. It wasn't about newer names not being accepted either. Philly's Most Wanted vs. The Dramatics was the first match on the show and they were well received for one of the better matches on the show because they worked hard, which is all that audience wants. But, when you book the guys who lost that match to lay out New Jack and Mustafa in their first appearance in Philly in over a decade, you have no one to blame but yourself when the audience takes a steamy s*** all over you.

ECW always gave the audience what they promised and more. Extreme Reunion promised and never delivered. They f**** the fans and now they are going to have to deal with the consequences because in my mind, they'll never see that size of an audience in Philadelphia ever again, and they shouldn't, because they didn't earn it. They got that crowd based on ECW goodwill and nostalgia and promises of kicking something fun off again and instead of a party, they delivered a wake. The most shocking thing to me all night is that we didn't end up with a riot because if there was ever a night where it would have been justified, it would have been this past Saturday.

So there you have it.

This is why the show failed. The fans came looking for the ECW experience, in whatever that may have been in 2012 and got more along the lines of XPW bookings with ECW guys. I can't imagine that a large portion of those fans will be back. Hell, some weren't even there by the time the show ended. Reunion had a chance to make a first impression and all they needed to do was have a decent, fun show that gave everyone some elements of ECW and make them happy. Instead, they s*** the bed.

Backstage, it was an interesting mix. You had people sad they were there, because they had taken time out of their real life to come back and see old friends and hopefully get something going where they could work regularly - because they were watching it fall apart around them with no power to change it. They watched people who talked about being clean and sober in interviews leading up to the show stumble around backstage, embarrassing themselves and any chance of being used again. They watched things seem really haphazard and disorganized, from a technical side, from a booking side and from an overall standpoint. Then you had guys who didn't care, because it was just another quick payday in their carny, con world, happy to get whatever they can get tonight, because they knew there would be no tomorrow before they ever stepped foot in the building. Then you had the guys who were zonked out of their mind, oblivious as they always are, but ready to blame the business for their own issues.

A lot of people will say that this show was proof to never, ever have an ECW Reunion show again. To me, it's not about ECW or whether the reunion concept is a valid one. You had 2000 fans there willing to pay good money to see this show when nothing in Philadelphia outside of WWE has drawn that in forever. That's proof enough that there's validity and interest.

The problem is that the people you need to use to draw are for the most part, shells of themselves or personal trainwrecks and they are the ones needed the most to make it work. What's worse is that the guys who can still go and don't bring that drama, don't have that same intangible that attracts the audience and makes them want to see the show, so they get painted with the same brush as those who ruin things for themselves. So, it's a never-ending trainwreck where once again, fans get their hopes up and get pissed on for it.

In a lot of ways Extreme Reunion would have been better off ignoring the ECW name and trying to play off that concept and using the guys who can go, mixing them with indy guys they wanted to use, coining a name and running their show.

Sure, it would have been harder to draw, but it would have been a hell of a lot easier to wake up the next morning, not feeling sad and depressed that once again, something that got fans excited enough to spend money, went right to hell over the course of a few short hours - and those fans aren't likely to spend money on any independent promotion anytime soon, much less the return date for the trainwreck on Saturday.

Everyone involved should be issuing apologies and make-good to the audience. Now. It's what ECW would have done.

"I hope Hardcore Homecoming does well, because I never, ever want to see ECW fans offered the ECW experience and then not get it, because that's the worst thing you can do to the audience." - Paul Heyman, WWE Byte This, June 2005.

Most people knew who Kevin Sullivan was, no one knew who the fuck Tod Gordon was. No one knew who the fuck the other run in guy was from earlier in the night, even less cared.

Sound system was shit. Quite a few did walk out when it was announced Sabu wasn't going to be there. They definitely should have said that earlier.

No alcohol sold there, but half the audience was tailgating before the event. Probably drinking from when the fanfest ended at 1PM until they went to stand in line to enter the Armory.

oh, and they supposedly had problems w/the iPPV that was to be available a few days after the show. They probably don't want the "Refund" chants getting out. I wonder if they come up w/ a reason to scrap the DVD.

If Credible would have been allowed to perform, it probably would have ruined the best match of the night. They gotta make Storm a big part of the next show, not an after thought.

Wrestling fans as a whole are huge fucking marks. They get shit product because they continue to support shit product.
The last show I went to was good only because it was at the local fair and had a lot of old time working class guys getting fucked up and watching Greg Valentine, Koko and Abdullah. They were the only guys who stuck around to sign shit. All the young guys peaced out.
Bret Hart never showed (we were told this mid card over the PA he wasn't coming) and Jeff Jarret never wrestled (we were told at the beginning, though he did come out and hit AJ Styles with a guitar).
I wouldn't cross the street to watch any of this shit live again.

Only sports I enjoy live are the ones I'd never watch on tv: NBA and NHL. NFL, MLB, wrasslin, good announcers are half the enjoyment. A wrasslin show can make up for that if the crowd is lively. When you are sitting there in silence, just hearing the amplified ring noise, it is boring.

If they didn't know who Tod Gordon was they had no business being at an ECW reunion show. That's like going to a Yankees old timers game and not knowing who the fuck Don Mattingly is.

Wrestling fluctuates. There's highs and lows. You have to be a complete and total mark-ass virgin nerd who thinks My Little Ponies is "kewl" to believe that the business is not in a horrible slump. Last time mainstream wrasslin' was this horrible was 89-95 right before WCW did the NWO angle, ECW became noticeable, and WWE started the attitude era.

Fans stick with it though, just hoping it gets better. I watch Impact every week, just hoping that maybe they'll get their shit together. Vince has all the tools to make the WWE something enjoyable, but unfortunately, right now, he's still catering to children on the whole. I honestly think that the current hipster trend of liking shit that blatantly sucks just to be different from "the establishment" is making up for more ticket sales than it should. I say this because the majority of forums that I visit to get the wrasslin news is composed of posters with signatures and avatars that consist mainly of My Little Pony and current WWE stuff. Sometimes mixed. Like Daniel Bryan riding a My Little Pony.

You see, this is the kind of shit that fuels the current product. Whatever bleeding, hairy vagina created this picture is who decides how awesome your Monday/Thursday nights are.

Old fat bald guys are tough to differentiate from 50' away.

Personally, I didn't have ECW until just before Barely Legal, and Gordon was out by then. No one else in my area seemed to know who he was either.

Were you living on the moon? I was in BFE in Kansas and had ECW on Prime Sports at midnight on Sunday night back in 1994. It was also on MSG channel and Sunshine Network in Florida back then.

Sunshine Network was where I first started watching it. My cable company had a "test pattern" channel that had a weather crawl and ad crawls for shows on the cable system. They ran weird talk radio shows over it. One of them was hosted by a black worker called Shadow Man. Never heard of him before or since. But he did lots of "smart" content, pimped the Observer and the Torch. It was kind of my beginnings in the smark world.

NY Daily News used to have a smark column on Fridays that was good, and the Trentonian had one on Sundays, that was better. The Sunday one did more ECW and WCW stories, NYDN was more WWE.

Axl Rotten retires.

"We noted before that ECW Original Axl Rotten fell asleep at the wheel and was in a car wreck while returning home from the Extreme Reunion event in Philadelphia last month. Axl, who defeated Balls Mahoney at the event, says he's wrestled his last match. He wrote on Facebook:

"This is very easy to say. No tearful videos or thank you's. I had fun wrestling Balls Mahoney at Extreme Reunion. I will keep my thoughts on the other matches and event as a whole to myself. I think I'm done. I had 24 yrs doing what I love. I'm not going to wrestle another match. Thanks for the ride. It ended in a bang....Literally.- Axl Rotten" "

He does. What I remember was Lawler was doing colour on RAW. First thing out of the gate, either JR or VKM said Jerry wasn't there and exactly why. Just buried him. It was brutal. I can't recall the exact details, but the case fell apart.

Uncle Jerry has had as many ups and downs in the E as anybody has.

Flair done with TNA????

"PWInsider reports that Ric Flair and TNA are at a major impasse and there is a ton of heat on Flair for his conduct outside of the ring. One source described it as "being at the point it's not worth keeping Flair around."

There have been a number of incidents with Flair at local establishments in Orlando since he joined TNA. Flair was reportedly banned from drinking at the Hard Rock Cafe at Citiwalk due to an incident.

There also have been many stories about Flair not being able to cover bar tabs and company management getting calls from hotel or bar management seeking payment. Something similar recently happened at a hotel TNA has a good relationship with and that was said to be the final tipping point. Flair was pulled from live events and TV tapings after that incident.

Several people in the company have been against using him as a regular since he came to TNA, noting that while he carries a high price tag, he hasn't drew money or ratings for TNA.

Spike TV sources also report that there have been a number of requests from the network for TNA to keep Flair dressed and not have him "near nude" and bleeding at his age on TV.

Word going around over the weekend was that Flair is done with TNA but that's not confirmed yet."

I heard that it was Janice Carter, Dixie's momma and bank, that made the "no nude flair" call. People need to stop enabling him, but how can they? If Ric fucking Flair walked into a bar I was in, i would find it pretty much impossible to not poop em', let out a thousand "wooooooooos" and buy him all the drinks he wants.

Let Ric bleed. I agree w/ fartz. How do you not buy him drinks and pick his brain?

I imagine his trip north for the HOF ceremony has a bit to do with it, too. Old friends, possibility of a bigger paycheque. Wonder if there's a no compete in his contract. Hopefully, the E will snap up Hogan and Bischoff soon. And Pritchard.

As I hear, he's just stopped making appearances and answering his phone.

Apparently Alex Shelley's gone and going straight to the big game, skipping developmental. Great worker, but I don't see how they'll fit him into the E.

It would all be fun and games until he tried to grab your woman's tits. Which he tried to do to my wife several years ago at the SC Coast. She got away from him but he is pretty lecherous and has always been so.

Oh yeah, that's right I forgot. Most of y'all don't have women to worry about.

There's a million Flair stories like that. Hell, it's probably worked for him more than once. I guess it would be like those Evel Knievel stories where the hubby would wait holding his girl's purse while Evel put the stones to her.

*Do not call building for tickets. Building is not sell tickets for show.

I would imagine Hardy/Storm would be the match in Philly. Ganstas getting revenge on Black Out should be good too. They need a Main Event though.

Fuck, now I actually miss ECW on TNN looking at that card.

I suspect Lynn vs. Homicide would be the main, unless they throw together a tag at the last minute.

The votes for giving Joey Ryan a contract are like 88% in favor right now. If they're giving that Silva shrimp a contract for getting his ass handed to him in a weak squash match with Robbie E., than Ryan should definitely get it for putting on a nice little fun spot-fest with Aries.

How stoked are we for Brooke Hogan coming to TNA? I think if TNA enters the "Garret Bischoff/Brooke Hogan" era, I might start believing in Mayan Prophecies and all that shit.

Pathetic aint it. Brookie should just start doing mass amounts of Test and grow out a Fu-Manchu.

Even funnier than the $$ the divorce cost Hogan, is the $$ she burned on her "music career". Musta really burned him up inside when he realized HE was the one getting worked on that.
