Not plastic surgery, but implants are believed to cause myalgia. The studies right now go both ways on whether it's the implants, since fibromyalgia is a complex of different symptoms.

They thought at one point it was the silicone from silicone-based implants, but that didn't answer for all of them. Now they're leaning toward the cause being the shell, both in silicone and saline-based implants--at least in this case that's what it was. Courts aren't an ideal place to settle medical issues, of course, but the manufacturer is fucked, in my opinion.

I was lead attorney on it through discovery (which turned up just a horrible paper trail of confidential company studies). It's due to go to trial in December. Though I'm no longer lead counsel on it, someone else in my office is. It will probaby be tied up for awhile as there have been too many things to make it clean and dry to settle for either side.
