I've never seen any, but they might be more common in rural areas and near farms. Also, they weren't "wild dogs," they were loose pets. Frankly, with all the wild bears, wolves, coyotes, lynx, etc. up here, I don't see how people can keep any farm animals alive.

The big thing in Anchorage lately has been people keeping live chickens in their yard. Some people in my neighborhood have started doing this and I'm just waiting for a story about the chickens being eaten by black bears.
