You have to click on a download link in your post, then copy the URL, click edit in your post, then click the 4th icon above the replay box, click one, and paste the url.

An easier way, for this place or anywhere on the net, is to set up an imgur.com account. Then you can drag and drop pics and gifs, click on your image, and it will come up with 6 different links/codes to copy and paste in your post. If you use Firefox or chrome, you can get an add-on that allows you to right click and quick upload images on the net.
