so i thought we were going with rent to own but they called and basically said it was a scam and that if the value goes up you have to buy the house for that much.odd thing is thats not the number of the office and why would this asshole tell my mom that its a scam when he sells alot of those houses?the neighbors being dicks it couldve been a prank call but whatever.
anyway lets assume im looking to rent a house now.what site is legit for just straight up rentals?

Look at craigslist or backpage. It's not hard.

Someone was complaining recently on a nearby local cl that most of the listings were phony. I honestly don't know. I've scouted a couple of commercial properties, but not any home rentals.
Are there any real estate agencies that handle rentals? I know some here manage for private landlords. Just a thought.

i looked at both.pickings are pretty slim there.i guess that rent to own shit did sound too good.although i saw one of them up as just a normal rental so maybe ill be able to rent one of the other ones that are more interesting.
and barry that sounds like a good idea.ill look into that.
also anybody know the owner of those tits in the gif?id like to rent those too.

For a rent to own, you might think of getting a relator and having them search for owner contracts. It's rto, only different. It's just a different kind of mortgage. Rather than paying rent and only a little going to the purchase, all the payment goes to the principle (jondra?) and interest. You're a bit more locked in than a regular rental situation, but if the contract is written right you could just walk away like a rental. Plus getting a relator to do your legwork won't cost you anything. The seller pays the commission. Just another option.
Any fake internet relators (I totally know I'm spelling this wrong, but it keeps coming up as correct) feel free to jump in and add on and/ or correct, because I'm mostly pulling this out of my ass. We bought our first home that way and it was a while ago.

thats some good advice, thanks.im still confused as to why the fuck the realtor would say its basically a scam.their website seems legit and i even watched a youtube video walkthrough of a house they had on their.it seems like theyre trying to get people into homes.
so owner contract is the term?im gonna try to talk to some dickheads tomorrow and see about it.this condo shit is for the birds, especially where we live.

Just the term rent to own makes it sound like a scam. At least to me. I know owner contract was the term, but that was a while ago. It may have changed. If they look at you weird, call it the seller carrying the contract. The realtor (I knew I was spelling it wrong) will ask you for basically a wish list. Hard floors, number of beds/ baths...all that. An owner contract would be just another thing on the list.

Frank why rent when you can buy? You can gain equity if you own a house and improve it.

Yeah. It's a real thing. Usually it's a home that can't pass an inspection. Before you wet your pants, it might be an older fusebox instead of a breaker panel...that's why we got an owner contract on our house. Something like that. Not like alligators in the basement.
It's still a contract. The mortgage gets paid to an escrow company who writes a check to the seller. You shouldn't even have to come into contact with the sellers.

Frank why rent when you can buy? You can gain equity if you own a house and improve it. Property taxes are getting so high now that it almost discourages owning a home. If you have your money parked in a semi-decent house, you can still wind up paying in taxes what it would cost to rent a decent apartment. This might just be local to Anchorage though. There is no sales tax or income tax, so the government needs to get their cash somehow.

Point taken, but you are still better off buying a house. You can improve your house. Renting kind of sucks. I rent my place and there is no reason at all to improve it.

Plus we don't know if Frank drives. He could rent out his driveway/garage for a few hundred bucks. Can't do that if you rent.

I meant to make an offer like this to a girl a while back who kept parking around the corner from me and getting tickets. She'd get a ticket basically every single day and just tear it up. Plus she was cute. She sort of looked like a stripper I used to know. Mostly, I was going to make the offer just so I could talk to her because she piqued my interest. I think her lic. plate was "SMOOCH." One day, she just stopped coming around.

plus my mom will be closer to work and ill be closer to school.were 45 mins out of the way right now.less gas equals more liquid money.
