How was that, Nuge? Not really my type of film and being swallowed up by the ocean tends to scare the shit outta me, but I'm slightly interested.

And, btw, that "Fashion is a religion. This is the bible." tagline has to be one of the worst I've read in a while.

Last night I watched this interesting movie about this girl and her vicious dog who hates cats. The sheriff orders the dog destroyed, and once the girl leaves town, the first thing she does is kill the first person who reminds her of the cat owner whom she irrationally blames for her dog's misbehavior.

For some reason, she takes the woman's shoes as a trophy, refuses to give them to the woman's sister and then gathers three vagrant, misfit, outcasts of society to help her kill the sister, too, only to trade the shoes for a ride home and blame the whole incident on a concussion and claim as far as she was concerned it was all a dream.


I think it was called "The Wizard of Oz."

Certainly the plot after the 1st 10 wouldn't work with a young bimbette.

It was among the first movies I saw via NetFlix when NetFlix was young. Kingsley and McShane were fucking scary. Came to really enjoy/respect McShane with Deadwood.

It did have James Fox in it who I didn't recognize the first time I saw it. He played in "King Rat" with George Segal which used to be my favorite movie/book of all time for a short while. This movie, or the book, should be required reading for anybody wanting to join XPT.

The Bad Lieutenant (Harvey Keitel) love this movie.

I just watched Ghostbusters. I've seen the film countless times but it was on and I couldn't pass up. It is still great.

The Ralph Nader doc An Unreasonable Man.

I originally saw this at a drive-in after it's first run. It was my first James Bond, and my first viewed nipple slip with the bikini strangle at the beginning. So I was a bit nostalgic when watching.


Always like the movie, but I never liked the end of the Las Vegas car chase since the continuity was all wrong [car is up on two wheels on the passenger side when it goes into the narrow alley and it comes out with only the driver's side wheels touching].

That's probably my favorite of the Bond pictures (The Living Daylights is right there with it and Thunderball and From Russia WIth Love aren't very far off). I'm probably in a very distinct minority on this, but Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd are my two favorite Bond villians of all time.

Useless Bond Trivia

Mr. Kidd is played by Putter Smith who was the bassist on the Righteous Brothers recording of You've Lost That Lovin Feeling.

The guy that plays Shady Tree in that movie was Dean Martin's uncle.

There was originally a small scene with Sammy Davis Jr. in the film but it was thankfully relocated to the cutting room floor. It did not jive at all with the vibe of the rest of the film.

Watched Albert Finney's "Scrooge" this morning/afternoon.

Watching George C. Scott's "A Christmas Carol" in between downloads now.

I'll probably watch 2 or 3 other versions of the Dickens classic before Christmas, for certain the Sim version -- perhaps even re-read the book.

I LOVE the story; a corrupted man redeemed after an epiphany through tangible acts of social justice in the real world instead of, say, unearned forgiveness merely for the asking through blind faith to an imaginary realm.



DVRed the classic Michael Rennie version of "The Day the Earth Stood Still" for viewing tonight. Sadly I saw most of the Keanu Reeves version on HBO will in Florida. Have to watch the classic to wash the pain of that awful, needless remake from my consciousness.

This was AWESOME! Saw it earlier in 3D. Great time at the movies...
