In an entitlement society, where so many people are dependent on one or more government cheques, the easiest way to scare the fuck out of them is to say any budget cuts will be coming out of these dependent folk's pocket.

I have to question why, if politicians are the ones who got us into this mess, why we have to pay to fix it. If any corporation ran the way the American does, everyone from the CEO on down would dragged into court. And if not that, be trashed by the media and dirty hippie Occupy types. But for whatever reason we turn a blind to our criminal "leaders".
