I don't know. I think they won some games, because they had those three young pitchers (Hudson, Mulder, Zito) and good pitching usually beats good hitting. Then you get to the playoffs, and the pitchers get pressure on them, and you go against teams that can do both, you fail. None of those pitchers lasted either.

I fucking hate advanced stats though. On-base is important for lead off guys, not the middle of the order. Giambi and Tiexiera annoy the shit outta me with all the walks. Yeah, I am glad they didn't make an out, but shit, put the damn thing in play. Tex is batting under .200 again. WE ( cqd ) won a World Series with the guy, but I see the last 3+ years of his contract being bad, and Montero being good on the Mariners. Not as bad as the last 3 years of A-Roid is going to be though.
