You can download a 14 day free trial from the website, and I think, as a paid member, I can send you a 21 day free trial, but I don't know how to do that yet.

Anyway, believe all the negative reviews, what they say is true. It does have a strong commerce system at its core, but it'll be a long, long, long time before you will be able to have the money and skills to get into that. In the beginning you spend all your time running some often repetitive "quests" for NPCs building skills and trying to build a nest egg of money. Also, since it has the steepest learning curve of any game I have ever played, you mostly spend time in the beginning learning how the game works.

The most interesting thing about it is that how much time you spend playing the game does not at all influence how quickly you gain experience and skills. Skills are trained in real time. If a skill takes 7 days to train, that is a real world week not "in game time", so it doesn't matter if you spend 100 hours over those 7 days online playing the game or don't sign on at all that week. The time you spend online is used to make money and explore the game. It is kinda nice to know that if you have a job and only want to kill a couple of hours on the weekend playing online, some kid who started the same time as you, but who stays up playing 20 hours a day all week long isn't going to be any more advanced than you are.

Of course that is after you've been playing for a couple of weeks, in the beginning skills only take a few minutes to train.

Anyway if you decide to check it out, let me know.
