I wish I could remember which book I read by Douglas Coupland where he talked about all the little phrases we learn from television that have steadily slipped into our vernacular. Mostly shit from advertising, like "flavor crystals." This was the same author who coined a couple of phrases himself, like "Generation X," & "McJobs." It might have been from the actual book, "Generation X."
