i was drinking 3 shakes a day for about a week then added a meal at the end.decided to cut it to two a day and one meal but that shit doesnt work because i overate a couple nights.so ive found that it goes one muscle milk with water and a banana,then another for lunch and maybe an apple,with a third shake for dinner and a small meal.

^^^I thought anti-depressants usually make people gain weight? I remember the first crazy stripper I ever hung out with telling me about how she had just been put on Zoloft. But she kept messing up the name and calling it Zolfat.

Figgs, if you have an iPhone, get an app called "Lose It!" You enter your current weight and your goal weight and it'll calculate how many calories you can consume per day to reach this goal.

Then it lets you log your daily intake of food and calculates the calories you've consumed. It has a built-in database of common foods, including brand name and restaurant items. For a lot of store-bought food items, you just have to scan the barcode on the packaging and the nutritional info will just pop up.

There are probably other similar apps out there you could try, but this one really seems to work for me.

Body for Life is the real deal, guys. But also, stop this obsession with counting calories. Sure, that's great as a general guide, but food content is just as important. That's why I don't count calories when it comes to fruit and vegetables. These are actual foods your body was born to digest and metabolize. Most of your daily intake should be these REAL, ACTUAL FOODS rather than shite made in a factory masquerading as food. Stop with the Muscle Milks and protein bars. It's just protein combined with chemicals and tons of cals, carbs, and sugar. Oh, and stop with the sports drinks. Again, this is sugary bullshit masquerading as food. Just drink water. You want a lil flavor? Squeeze a lemon into it and get your ass back in the gym.

gia i bookmarked that site too.i dont count calories when it comes to fruit and veggies because of the reason you said.the muscle milk takes place of my meals but i do have something small and low cal/carb for dinner.i dont drink soda or anything like that but i love tea with lemon and i happen to have a lemon tree in the backyard,so i always have access to some fresh ones.

so far with the shake diet it seems to be going great.i kind of modeled my diet after this guy dr nick yphantides whos book im reading(my big fat greek diet).he went from 467 to 269 in a year of an all shake diet.only thing that he did wrong was mixing the shakes with diet soda every day.that much soda cant be helpful to anyone especially not a porker trying to lose weight.

Hang in there. It took my body 3 months of intense weight training before I saw any major changes take place. So many times I was ready to give up. It took my body that long to register what was happening. It wasn't used to REAL working out. Lack of patience is what makes most people give up, I think.

^^^ Yep. I actually GAIN weight for the first 3-4 weeks when I start biking every year. That's with biking around 30 miles at a time, 3 or 4 days a week. Once my leg muscles build up, that's when the weight loss starts to happen.

If you feel like getting some additional positive feedback besides stepping on a scale, you can pick up a vial of the urine strips that diabetics sometimes use to test for ketones. Ketones are a byproduct created when your body burns fat.

It's kind of nice to see the strip change colors and know that you've accomplished some fat loss even if it hasn't shown up on the scale. If you get the strips that test for sugar as well, you can make sure you don't have Type 2 diabetes.
