I could see that happening with a bum ankle. Especially before they are worn in.

I wasn't sold until I was punch-listing apartments one time. We were walking an incomplete site punching out complete apt units so the shoes had to come off outside each unit, and had to be worn in between, and had to be boots for site requirements. The guy I was working with had on slip-ons and was way faster than me. He was in the apt before I could get inside and talk to him about fishing or whatnot and he was putting up way too many sticky notes on the walls and elsewhere. Laces are the suck.
