I signed on to apologize to BDM. I was in a pretty foul mood yesterday. All day.
I kinda expected to have been castigated for my comments and had intentions to apologize regardless. So I was surprised there was not more backlash.
Congrats on your new car BDM. I know how good that new car smell feels once you get past the buyers remorse on the second day. It's a damned fine feeling. I can't blame you for being proud. I bought a series of used cars through my life and actually took it as a point of pride that I'd let "some other sucker take the depreciation" (Barney Fife quote when he bought a used car from the cooked old lady). I had many nondescript brand-new company cars but they meant nothing. They also meant I didn't have to depend on my own used or cheap cars to make my living because my company paid for one.
And I also remember my first brand new car, and the ones since. Not saying this is by any means your first but the feeling is the same with all of them.
