While I don't have a transcript of her appearance on Howard Stern (and I'm sure somebody more interested in it than me can find one), I do remember listening to that show. Although I may be wrong, since I was a bit distracted at the time, I do believe I recall her claiming she had "Stage 4 Brain Cancer"--not her suitcase pimp boyfriend or some other scapegoat.

Yes, there is such a thing as stage 4 cancer that involves the brain, but it is not called "stage 4 brain cancer" by anybody who actually has it. People who have heard about advanced cancer in friends or family members who suffered with cancer might call it "stage 4 brain cancer", but nobody who actually has what they are referring to as "stage 4 brain cancer" calls it that.

Why not?

Because when you have FOR EXAMPLE Non small cell Lung Cancer that has metastasized to the brain, liver, and bone you don't call it "Stage 4 Brain, Liver, and Bone Cancer", you simply call it Lung Cancer.

Once the primary source of cancer is found (from which there has been metastatic spread to the brain in Raven's theoretical example), there is a face to face conversation IN PERSON with a physician who tells the patient their diagnosis. It is given as FOR EXAMPLE Colon Cancer, or Breast Cancer, or Lung Cancer. The stage is not a usual part of the diagnosis given to the patient since, as is evidenced here, most people don't have a clue what it means.

From that day on, every doctor, nurse, technician, phlebotomist, insurance agent, chemo nurse, oncologist, family doctor, nurses aid, ward clerk, and bedpan jockey will refer to it by the PRIMARY type of cancer. Her treatment will be determined by the type of primary cancer she has. Her prognosis will be determined by the type of primary cancer she has. Her medical records, charts, lab results, X-ray reports will refer to the primary type of cancer not the mets to the brain.

It is outside the realm of normal human experience to have been through this process and get diagnosed FOR EXAMPLE with stage 4 Non-small cell Lung Cancer with mets to the liver and brain and go around calling it "Stage 4 Brain Cancer". To have had the face to face discussions of treating your Lung Cancer, about your diagnosis with Lung Cancer, about your prognosis with Lung Cancer, being given patient literature about Lung Cancer, get referred to an Oncologist for treatment of your Lung Cancer, discuss treatment options with your oncologist about your Lung Cancer, get referred to support groups for people with Lung Cancer and then go on the Howard Stern show OR ANYWHERE ELSE and claim you have "Stage 4 Brain Cancer" simply strains credulity.

It simply isn't normal human behavior. Only somebody who hasn't actually been through that process would make that colossal screw up.

To then beg for money based on a diagnosis of "Stage 4 Brain Cancer"--a diagnosis which doesn't actually exist--makes your pleas for money suspect.

Behavior that weird, while asking people to give her money, puts the burden of proof on the Con Artist not the mark. If I'm proven wrong, I'll apologize, admit I was wrong, and give my full support.
