I know a number of people on this board have a problem with her, but I think Joanna Angel sets the standard for a porn star bringing what is best about her on-screen work to the director's chair.

Love her or hate her, she is 100% hardcore on camera and settles for nothing less from the girls she shoots. She also doesn't take herself too seriously (even going so far as to make fun of herself in her productions) and doesn't get caught up in being a "director." She sets up good scenes and shots, then gets out of the way and lets the performers do what they do best.

The biggest offender of a female performer turned director letting the title go to her head (in my opinion) is Stormy Daniels. If you watch her Operation: Desert or Tropical Stormy flicks with the director's commentary on you would think she was Coppola breaking down The Godfather 1&2.

It's actually funny because she does the commentary with Evan Stone and Tommy Gunn, and while she's carrying on like Stormy Welles, Stone and Gunn are going for laughs and you can sense they are getting on her nerves at times.
