Some people think that you shouldn't tip at all if your service was bad. The server would have to do something pretty vile for me to just completely revoke the tip. I mean like spitting in my face, calling me -you know what-, etc. You should always start at 15% and then increase from there.

Tipping is just part of the meal, think of it that way.
