Tipping should be part of the bill, not something. It works just fine in other countries where servers actually get paid properly.

Sure it's customary, but times change.

It's not called gratuity because it's required. It's called that because you are grateful above and beyond what you expected.

If they just changed the name to "restaurant service tax" and tacked it on the bill I would be cool with that.
