The few girls in this biz that I know well enough to ask about these "wish lists" and "spoil me" links showed me stuff that literally blew me away. Piles of shit shows up at their doors– expensive clothes, computers, bags, flat screens, motor cycles, etc (I know you say whores lie, but I saw this with my own eyes).

As for the girls and what they think of the guys who buy this stuff, I've found that instead of them thinking the guys are a-holes for wasting their time and money, they go the other way with it.

What I mean is, the "stars" feel that they are truly "special" and their fame and status has turned them into someone that is deserving of this display of attention and "generosity."
It is more of a boost to their own ego than a reason to look down on those who show their admiration with gifts.
