Fewer people in fewer countries want to kill Canadians. Even fewer still want to invade Canada. We're a polite, sane society whose entire army can fit in Toronto's Skydome. You're the loud, puking drunk who thinks you're great at everything and better than everyone. 10+ years have passed since 9/11 and you have learned nothing and changed nothing.
You can afford to be. You have the best trained military in the world across the street. We dumps tons of cash into our defense (or offense...I'm good with that) so you don't have to. So you can sit safely in your smugness, knowing that people better than you with big bad guns stand a post. How easy it must be for you to stand in judgement, considering that the dog in the fight belongs to your neighbour.
As to your jillion barrels of oil, make no mistake. The day you all decide to slow down that valve, there will be little debate about officially turning the Northwest Territories into a US Protectorate rather than the informal status it has now.
In 10+ years I've learned one thing. If the world, including the recipients of our largesse to the north, think we're the Great Satan, it's about time we started to act accordingly.
All that said, I love Canada and I love Canadians. I always have and I always will.
