I'm sorry but "letting you worry about it" is what caused all this mess in the first place. One political party wants to start new wars while the other is so outraged at the abuses at Guantanamo Bay that it is thinking about possibly ending it sometime in the future. Hundreds of detainees have been held for more than a decade without trial. Imagine if a country did that to Americans.
I'm reading a book about a guy in his 70s who rode a motorcycle from Mexico all the way to the bottom of South America (Old Man on a Bike by Simon Gandolfi). He spoke with locals throughout his travels. Without exception, he found many people angry with the policies of the United States. From Panamanians who lost relatives to your invasion in 1989 to workers in Honduras and Guatemala who suffered at the hands of the United Fruit Company, you mess with people all around the world.
People don't hate Americans for their freedom. They strongly oppose how you exploit other people, their resources, and their corpses after you've killed them.
Me don't lie.
