Yeah and I bet the "cold cure" takes about 5 days, as long as it doesn't morph into a sinus infection. Seriously, if I was going to gen up a home remedy I could not come up with more cliched ingredients than garlic, ginger, horseradish root, apple cider vinegar and cayenne pepper.

Try good Bourbon Whiskey, lemon juice and honey and call me in 5 days.

My grandfather used to mash up onions and garlic with honey and black strap molasses. It came out as a brown goo after the air hit for awhile. He'd keep it in a dish in the fridge. Every couple hours he'd take two spoonfuls and mix it into a few ounces of whiskey and gulp it down. The family always figured it was just a dodge so he could drink whiskey at home when he was sick so my grandmother wouldn't complain.

That recipe Gia posted is a ferment. It probably is providing some boost nutritionally and probably some beneficial bacteria, yeasts and enzymes but its not curing anything.

Not to mention the alcohol it's providing...no matter how low a level. Nothing like drunking up your kids to get them to stop complaining about a cold.

The cold remedy doesnt taste as good as Kombucha, but when I like it and drinking it made my skin nice.

what always works for me except once when i was really sick is taking two coricidin and spoonfull of dimetap(cant stand how cough syrup tastes) or cough syrup.didnt have any dimetap so i found a way to make cough syrup stomachable,which is pouring the dose in a glass then filling it with milk and drinking it.

but since were talking about home remedies ill share one im sure ive mentioned before for stomach ache/heart burn.squeeze out lemon juice into a glass of water,stick a spoon into baking soda and put it in your mouth,then chase it with the lemon water.this will add to the gas temporarily but youll either burp it out or itll come out some other way.to make it work better burp on purpose after taking the mix.

I've seen some herbal remedies work first or second hand in Latin America. I wish I could find a link to whatever it was my wife took in Costa Rica when she got the "bots". A local offered to either go to a local plantation and pick the leaves so she could make the tea, or go to the pharmacia and buy tablets. We needed tablets. It worked.

Garlic, cayenne and ginger may clear your sinuses but then again so will wasabi.

I haven't had the shit/vomit type of sickness in about 12 years BDM. I just get lousy head colds/sinus-ear infections, and the eating thing works for me.

I won't see a doctor unless I'm vomiting and shitting more than a Max Hardcore scene- weird because I have insurance. I go to the dentist more than necessary even when nothing's wrong with my teeth.

had some mean gas last night and no picot or alka seltzer.so i did the lemon water/baking soda dance in my stomach.might have over done it on the soda and the gas got worse,but i burped it out and felt great relief.

I see a doctor once a month to keep an eye on my blood and to monitor my bone disease. Also due to a low immune system if I get a cold I'm put on antibiotics immediately. The last time I tried to not do that [4 months ago] I got double pneumonia.

I haven't been to the doctor in about 8 years. I haven't been to the doctor for a real-deal physical ailment in about 10. Everytime I went to the doctor for a real sickness (not anxiety, which what 85% of my doctor visits composed of), all I got were fucking smoking lectures and an antibiotic script that seemed to do nothing. They always got a puzzled look on their face when I told them that I smoke because I don't want to be old, as old people piss me off.

Yeah those are two of the things that piss me off the most too. We have a tunnel here through the mountain that a lot of older folks slow down in by 10 mph or more when entering. Never have figured that out. Also the aisle blockers aren't just the elderly. Mostly 400 pound wimmen in moo moos with 4 screaming mini monsters.

Did I post about a knee problem? My knee is good now so whatever y'all told me to do, that I actually did, worked...'cause I ain't going to a fucking Doctor unless I already know what's wrong with me and know a prescription is the only way to fix it.

"Place a box full of golden raisins (must be golden) in a glass vessel, like a canning jar. Pour in gin specifically made with Juniper berries, until the raisins are completely covered. I took fish oil tabs and some chondroiton/glucosamine tablets for my knee. Again it was probably just the passage of time that fixed it.

By definition gin is flavored with juniper berries. Otherwise it's just vodka.

Real bone broth is supposed to help joint problems among other things. Look around for a recipe but its basically slow cooking bones in an acidic solution.
