Esprit. Columbus Circle New York, New York

Heather Pink and I looked for new coats today. We felt our current coats wouldn't prepare us for the bitter cold winter looming ahead.

Our mission:

down-filled
knee-length (so it can be worn with pants or dress/heels)
not looking like a duvet cover with a belt or a quilted garbage bag

So far, the only coat I liked was on a lady in line at Starbucks and it was from an expensive designer last year. No dice due to designer and sold last year, obvs. But man, it was gorgeous. We continued walking uptown and figured why not check out Columbus Circle. It's kinda a mall without being a mall, it's never crowded, and it's out of the cold. Esprit tempted us with their 40% signs and originality from everyone else's answer to affordable chic sans falling into wearing Zara, H+M, etc. Surprisingly, the quality was as great and most of the clothes were natural fabrics. I found the perfect coat for $220 then 40% off, which came out to a bit over $120. SCORE! Its tailored fit makes the down-filled fabric look neat and pulled together, and it's insanely warm. And it has side pockets big enough for my hands and phone. SCORE again!
