At this point, you might as well wait until the 3rd gen comes out in March. If there are no outstanding improvements, then you can get the current one at $100 off, new, retail.

They are cool. I don't have a 2, but the only real difference is the cameras I think. Some guys at Exxxotica were walking around taking pictures with them. Digital camera w/ a 9 inch screen, that was cool.

Mine is wifi only also. It is very nice to plop on the couch and surf the web, w/o having to balance a laptop on me knees. Also convenient to take in the bathroom and play a game or surf the web while you take a shit.

If your cable company has an app for it, you can get your entire channel line up on the thing.

Only thing I've found annoying is it won't charge from USB2.0 or a car charger.


*****On a note about hard drives, the floods in Thailand are supposed to lead to a hard drive shortage in 2012. Prices are already going up. The 2tb one I bought for $89.99 a couple months ago is now $229.99. If the Fatman went to cloud storage for his collection, he could make a mint selling off his stockpile of hard drives.
