Supposedly (according to Finebaum) there may or may not be some backdoor deals between university presidents in certain conferences to exclude them taking instate schools of conference members. If true this keeps Clemson and GaTech out of the SEC. We'd (we being Clemson) make so much more sense in the SEC even if we did get bitch-slapped in football by the top 2 or 3 teams for the next five years before we caught on. We could compete in every other sport except football right away and raise all their academic averages. Those are games I'd rather travel to see. I don't see your average South Carolina Gamecock fan heading to Missouri for a football Saturday.
