The reality is the Jeff directed Tony Malice to sign up scores of dummy users to make it look like XPT was growing as fast as ADT. None of them would ever post, they just boosted the registration stats so Jeffy could feel good about himself.
Thats a nice fantasy but if you look at how many guests are on XPT at any given time you'll usually see anywhere from 20 to 50 people lurking XPT. We also have alot more members who host images off XPT and those images are visible to guests so more recently it doesn't matter as much for a lurker to register an account. The people who run the site don't measure its success by how many registered members it has but by how many hits the site receives, how much bandwidth they use and how many clicks the ads are getting.
