Let your husband sharpen the knives Gen. At least til you are better. Hubby's somewhere in the middle east for business until beginning of April. He was lucky enough to get home for a week on emergency leave when I stroked out. I won't touch it until then. I've done enough damage lol

Mail the knives to JRV. he could do the honorable thing or he might sharpen them and mail them back to you.

Just placed an order for 3x 40-pound bags of bird food for $52.92 delivered at FleetFarm.com. Don't know if it will get processed, but $52.92 for 120 pounds of delivered bird food is an excellent deal. Let me ask the question we're all wondering about. Do you have birds?

I believe anything he thinks is a great bargain must be bought. It is in his DNA. When will he post his aliababa.com buy of 10,000 vending machine tampons for $1000 shipped.

An oz of weed from Bongo Boi, now known as White James. the bongos have always intrigued me. might i ask why the name change?. White James was a throwaway character of American Dad. A white pimp, but in the typical uniform of a 70's hustla. His business card says "Purveyor of Fine Bitches Since 1993" or some such year. The character looks like Bongo Boi, so it just kind of stuck. I have nicknames for everyone.

How's going through cartilage with shit like that? And this is the folded Japanese blade thing, I assume. I have a set of Shun knives. They aren't hand-made/hammered blades, so the damascus (folded) look on the blades is cometic. They're quite sharp and hold a good edge, but the blades I have are kind of.... brittle. The edge chips easily if you accidentally happen to bang the blade on anything. Carbon steel has more of a dull look and can also discolor, but it's more durable.

The edge chips easily if you accidentally happen to bang the blade on anything. Carbon steel has more of a dull look and can also discolor, but it's more durable. I've used Shun for several years now and haven't had a brittle blade before. But proper care of any high quality knife that is used daily is needed for instance only hand washing even though it's dishwasher safe and making sure you dry after washing instead of air dry. Using a honing steel rod (not for sharpening) as needed. And if you can't seem to get the whetstone down properly then it's best to send your knives out for sharpening about once a year. These knives are meant as an investment for lifelong use. And if you use them properly and take care of your investment they will take care of you. The steel is VG-10 or VG-2 which is high carbon steel. And also with Chromium, Vanadium, Molybdenum and Cobalt. It's designed to maintain sharpness and durability without becoming brittle, a major fault normally associated with exceptionally hard steel. The damascus is a cosmetic look but so is the case for all high end knives that have the damascus pattern. A true damascus knife is truly one that is made of damascus. The shun beholds I believe three types of steel depending on what line you purchase. And that's VG-10, VG-2 and VG-MAX. The damascus may be a look but that doesn't denote the sheer quality of what the knife can do and personally I don't see it any more or less than a Hattori or Ryusen. Take care of your goods just as if you were to with a samurai sword. You don't throw a sumarai around on the ground, do you? lol I don't know what Shun's you have but they are handcrafted and there are videos out there showing them being made. (and I know handcrafted can be considered a marketing gimmick)

The carbon steel is much softer than stainless, so the cheap chinks can make it sharp by rubbing it on a oil stone. Those blades look pretty thin. That is another trait of something designed to be sharpened on an oil stone or a steel.
If you take a regular, heavy chef's knife and only sharpen it on a stone, without ever thinning the knife out, you will eventually have a thick edge that constantly needs tuning up.
When using that knife in the middle, remember you are cutting, not stabbing. Draw it towards you, so if it gets stuck you don't run your hand up the blade.

If there is something I want that is fulfilled by Amazon, I use a relative's acct to get the free 2day shipping. There are 3-4 of us that use the acct.
Amazon is building a million square foot warehouse 5 miles from me. I am hoping that they have a Will Call window and I can just drive there and pic shit up as I imagine the same day shipping will be outrageously priced. I am disappointed that they will be collecting state sales tax.

what you can do is use the free prime trial and order as you like.let it run up until the last day because you never know when you might feel like buying something.then cancel it.you can then use it for free again later on and do the same thing.

No, I don't cancel Amazon Prime. I do more shopping through Amazon than anywhere else so it's really worth every penny for us. I even shop for imported foods, etc. that are otherwise much more expensive through other sources. I guess it all depends on what your needs are. If only I can buy fresh organic produce through there and I'll have it made. LOL "worth every penny" - Jack's 99c Store

Gen. If you do a lot of shipping on Amazon (over $25 an order) and don't need something on a specific date, the opt for the free shipping. Several times, I have done that and it showed up the next day even though they said 5-7 business days. It was though I paid for overnight or two day shipping. You may not need to splurge for the Prime (unless you are getting benefits other than shipping).

you might find something of interest in Austin or Houston, but other parts of TX are tough sledding.

Actually they're developing the far Northeast into something quite nice that the rest of El Paso could only dream of ever achieving. ha... ha... HA! It's not thaaaat bad but it did take me several months to get used to coming from land of nearly everything in California. It's all good though. The pet stroller I ordered finally arrived. $45 Now my little Cerebellar Hypoplasia kitten, Traveler can go on walks with me when I'm cleared to do so. For now he can hang out with me in the kitchen with comfort. He's my sous chef aka quality control

Well, at least you are relatively close to Santa Fe, NM, and it's supposed to be pretty hip and scenic there.
Can that kitten play with other kittens given his condition (serious question).

Instead of washing them you could throw them away. At your current rate you'd have enough underwear for three years. I bought my current underwear in 2010 and its already all worn out. One pair looks like it suffered IED hit.

You over bought Alex, unless you plan to remain XXXL. By July, none of them should fit.
