In 1980, I used to go to Stampede Wrestling in Calgary. Brett Hart was not the most famous Hart brother. It was Bruce who was the hero. Ed Whalen used to announce the matches and the crowd would go insane.
Davy Boy Smith. The Dynamite Kid. Leo Burke. The Cuban Assasin.
Crazy times. There was some blood but it wasn't a gross-out thing. There were a lot of kids so I think they kept it as family-friendly as the times allowed. Things got a lot more hardcore later on.
