If it is just in the foot, they may do a walking cast, so no crutches or any thing. And probably only like 2 three weeks. Elevation, advil, etc. You really just gotta make sure it is immobilized, because you don't wanna keep prying open the crack every time you take a step. 3 advil minimum, if you don't have access to the good stuff, or can't function at work with the good stuff.

I broke a bone in my big toe a while ago, it was a fucking bitch for about 4 days. Then about a month or so before it was right. No tape, no dr, just advil when I had to work and a pair of boots with the sole worn out all fucked up because I was walking on the outside of my foot for a month favoring the big toe.

If you start seeing color change or the pain worsens, then hit the Dr.
