I don't know if they still honor it but at one time if you called the utility companies to fix something or do maintenance and requested that they only send Utility company Union employees out then you'd get the Utility company crews instead of outside contractors, at least in PA they would do that. I think it was written into the union contracts becasue the utility company always honored the request here.

Whenever the jerk offs finally get here, I just hope they'll do some extra trimming for a hundy.

They came to mark stuff in February, said they'd be back in a couple weeks, and I aint seen them since.

If I see them marking the same tree next year, I'm telling the guy flat out that within 3 weeks, they need to do X Y and Z also, on the arm, or I'm calling the power company and saying, "This is the third year in a row that they mark the tree for removal and never come back. How many times have they charged you for removing that tree?"

Tornado warning in effect here. They are telling people to get in their basements. We don't have tornadoes here. A freak one set down like 20 years ago about 40 miles from here out in the sticks. I never heard of that in my whole life. First an earthquake, then a monster hurricane and now tornadoes.

I was flipping through stations earlier today and saw Gov. Christie at a press conference. He was surrounded by other officials and was apparently talking about hurricane preparations. I had the TV on mute so I don't know the specifics but the text at the bottom of the screen said...

Gov. Christie: A million people have evacuated the Jersey Shore.

All I could think of was that later today the Governor of Pennsylvania would be holding a press conference announcing that millions of people have been evacuated from east Pennsylvania in preparation of the invasion of Guidos and Stellas fleeing Hurricane Irene.

I heard some gusting wind after I went to sleep but no major damage to the neighborhood that I can see. I didn't lose power at all. I had to turn on the sump pump and pump alot of water out of my basement but that is the worse I encountered. I slept pretty good last night which is rare.

I have to retrieve the lid to my garbage can.

That's it, aside from a tiny bit of roof leakage.

Much ado about nothing.

Lots of complaining about Christie today on local radio. His tweets all morning were promoting his national tv spots, while Cuomo, next door, was tweeting flood warnings for different areas. Christie's people's response when confronted with this, We posted that info on YouTube. HOLY SHIT. How are a couple hundred thousand people without electric, cable, and phone, supposed to get to youtube?

Also big complaints that him and his people didn't address local media until past 1PM, when many journalists spent the night in the "Command Center". They couldn't even see his national press conference, since they weren't allowed in the room, and the cable in the "command center" was out.

I liked the guy and was happy with the job he was doing. After today, I wouldn't piss on the fat sack of shit if he was on fire.

Fucking Cuomo tweeting flood warnings and our fat fuck of a governor is telling people to watch him w/Matt Lauer.

Now that that is off my chest, nothing too bad about the storm. Tornadoes are said to have hit locally, but not around me. Roads closed, wires and trees down, couple lakes flooded their bridges, one creek over flowed and washed out 1/3 of a road.

I'm going to have to start rooting craiglist for a generator to run my sump pump when the power is out. 6-8 inches down in the basement.

Well, you also said no one had phone service. If you're getting Twitter Tweets, I would think you would at least have Edge network service thru your cellphone.
