I had joined some twitter campaigners for political campaign and anti-corruption movements stuff. You're right, it is time waste. People just keep twitting and checking who has re-tweeted them or gave 'mention' to time. I used to do it myself until I saw how unproductive it is, after I got backache for hours of sitting in front of computer. But everyone there thinks he or she is a philosopher reincarnate. Same goes with facebook. You've attention whores who keep posting overused flower and cute-baby wallpapers and there are swinging dicks who keep hitting 'I like' button to strike an opportunity to flirt with those attention whores.
