What EXACTLY is the state of male talent in porn? It seems that all corners agree that reliable guys are difficult to come by. Perhaps the most important clue is the number of companies that seem to be hiring guys to exclusive contracts. Keeping all the best for themselves, as it may be. I know specifically of a HUGE company that cancelled a shoot last week because they could not get a guy. Is male turnover as fast as girl? With the exception of a select few, I see very few new MALE faces in the biz, and those I rarely see again. Steve Holmes mentioned in another thread that his role as a producer would be easier if he had more reliable guys to pick from. Without mentioning names, I am most curious to hear LA's best perspectives and stories about good guys and bad... and what made them such. The porn scene in Nee York is a joke, and it just seems that the producers here are so worried about getting a hot girl to do dp for $600 that they will use any idiot as male talent. Of course, there are exceptions, but do I need to say more? Stick Teagan in a scene with mr. softie and you know what you got? NOTHING. Even with TEAGAN!! with great companies too. From what everyone
says that is really good for a new guy. A lot
of new guys struggle to work just once or twice

Do guys really need to work more than twice a week? I heard that some guys make $500 a scene. That's $1000 a week. $50,000 a year.

The good guys get between $ 700 and $ 1000 per scene. I worked 45 scenes in 26 days when I was the last time in L.A. In Europe I shoot an average of 25 scenes a month.
This doesn't include the movies I produce.

Sorry, I read that the wrong way. Yes, I did shoot with
Alex and Trina for Seymore recently. Glad to hear he's giving me good props. I am very lucky so far. I couldn't ask for better people to be working with. Trina is amazing and Alex really works well
with other guys. When you're doing dp's it's the other
guy that makes all the difference as some guys just lay on

I dont think theres too much of a turn around as far as male talent goes..theres a few really good new guys out there..when I first started there was a pretty big influx of new male talent that was kinda unpredictable,but there has been some new guys in the last 3 years that have stepped up to bat for sure..I'm not a hater like alot of other male talent goes for 2 reasons: 1 is that I've established myself after 4 years and have enough clientele that keeps me working no less than 6 to 12 scenes a week.and secondly,I think theres definately enough room for new guys,its what this business thrives on,because lets face it : IF THE GUY AINT UP TO SNUFF,YOU AINT GOT NO SCENE!!!! thanks for listening to my 2 cents...
