Rip-snortin' Toro self propelled mower. 6.75 HP Briggs and Stratton. I tried to go green with electric and a reel mower, but it just didn't do the job. Battery puny after two years. This monster kicks ass. I'll do trim with the little electric and mow the front yard with the reel mower.

Been burning up this summer and needed some light-weight shirts so I don't sweat so much. After walking around the mall for an hour and a half only to find there's very little in there I'd consider paying for, the next day I went to pick up some to-go food. There was a Kohl's in the shopping center across the street. So, I stopped in and was pleasantly surprised.

Found four striped polos I really like that were only $15 each. Here's one of them:



There was nothing in Kohl's that jumped out as something that would be my favorite. It's all just regular traditional clothing. But, there was plenty that I'd be fine wearing if I needed to have something. Next time I need clothes I'm definitely headed to Kohl's and not the mall. So much easier, cheaper, and better looking.

Had to spend way too much time look all over the place to find a new pair of slides to replace my old ripped up ones. Only found one pair I liked enough to buy, but it had been discontinued last season... Eventually found a guy on Ebay selling the shoe, but in size 9. Not the size 11 I need.

Still aggravated and unable to let it go, few days later I finally email the Ebay guy asking where he got it. An LL Bean outlet in Freeport, ME. So, I call them and they have the shoe! But, they won't ship it to me... Email the Ebay guy back and he's willing to go pick them up and ship them to me for a $40 profit.

Ended up paying $85 for a shoe that's regularly priced $50, but am so glad I did... Really like these shoes.

I saw those when I was on my man hunt for the slides. I can't stand logos on clothing. I hate being advertising. Like, I just know there's some MBA strutting around their corporate headquarters, bragging about what a genius he is because he's got everyone walking around advertising for them for free...

Yeah, the Tevas have a logo too, but most people don't recognize it and it's a subtle hand symbol which is kind of cool. The Adidas logo on their slides was just too painfully obvious for my tastes.

I would rather have no logos on the slides at all, but I couldn't make it happen.

My "no logos" rule was a big part of why I couldn't find any shirts at the mall.

Their entire business model is based on it.

They marked everything WAY up and then it's discounts and coupons and Kohl's cash.

They have one in Newport mall. The only times I've been there is when my brother sent me to gather prices from competitors. Like who charges more for XXL items than XL.

But, my mom loves the one near her. In that store, you use the coupon and her senior discount and it spits out another coupon with credit to buy something else.

And, there's some Tranzerian equations to figure the best combinations to get the best discounts.

Macy's has the similar thing: some of the brands that they get, they buy a t-shirt for $15 and then they try to sell it for $45 but the actually revenues are counted from $30 (where they have the discounts)

Macy's doesn't have coupons and deals every single week.

Macy's has a lot of mailers/circulars that they mail out. The more stuff you buy the more stuff you will get in the mail. It also has to do with your purchase level. A person who spends too little money will get a mailer with the "exceptions coupon" while a person who spends like $15,000/year at Macy's will get the same exact circular but with the coupon that has less exceptions. I seen the same circulars with different coupons side by side.

I used to work at Macy's so I had access to pretty much to all the coupon 6 weeks ahead of time for free. The best coupon is one of those $10 off purchase of $25 and more.

I didn't think they'd be hard to find, but they were. Wanting a index card holder for labelling on the front made it difficult.

I didn't get lids for them because it'd just be one more thing I had laying around the house. They stack without them well enough.

Cheap, attractive (enough for storage in a closet), and easy, these things are perfect and make my house a little cleaner.
