The JM boycott came after they distributed Donkey Punch, his original hatred in porndom came from trashing TTFagBoy for a few scenes.

I guess he now co-runs his blog with Denver Don, David Aaron Clark, and Bruce Seven.

I love his reviews. They have helped attribute countless otherwise anonymous scenes.

And, like Den, I find most of JM stuff beyond offensive.

I think you rated it a bit too high.

In the link by zenman, it says that he treated all reviews equally. That doesn't fly if he hated JM stuff, rather points out once again that watching people fuck on disc and summing it up for some cash is an idiotic job. Making more of a guy who described wank ware after he dies is just pretentious.

checked out grams salute to the guy today and dens review style screams "waste of life in a dark room". fucken dismal. at the same time it gives charin hope and you won't find that support in a twelve step so it balances out.

If he didn't do these reviews would anyone be talking about him?

He must have an entire DVD library and not AVIs, WMVs, MP4s or MKVs, though I've heard many of these review guys sell the DVDs on eBay, etc., to make a buck.

I never, ever say this, but dude...too far.

A crony and I would buy cases of the $50 for 75 DVDs from one of my headshop suppliers. We'd sell them at work for $5 each. I'll tell ya, you really learn about folks you "know" when you're direct marketing porn to them. "Can't I just rent some?" The beauty was we'd get most of them back within a couple of months,for various reasons, and turn around and resell them. Ah, the salad days.

Thats said, I don't have any DVDs in my collection. Like Fatman said, lots of AVI's and such.

I've still got about 50 "real" DVDs. Most of them I either got for $2 or less on the net. I paid good money for about 10 of them in 2000-3.

But now I download about that in 3-4 days.


I've got a couple-three hundred VHS tapes, most just surrendered by guys I knew when they got married.

I have a friend that still swears by spanking it to VHS. Says he only needs about 5 minutes at a time, so he stops it when he's done so he can pick up at the same spot next time. Says it takes him a month to get through a tape.

I used to get further per view, but that was my strategy with most of my new VHS tapes back in the day. Unless I bought the tape with hopes of something specific, I just used to watch the movie from beginning to end over a few days only FFing if the girl was unattractive.

But, they were mostly MOVIES then. Now they are almost all scenes.

In fairness, I NEVER watch full movies anymore; not even "features'. Even if I have a full movie, I skip to scenes. That's also because I have so much on hand, and countless new stuff everyday, I don't have to ration novelty.


The first tapes I remember that I came across that were more like "modern" films were the Ed Power's tapes. I was always pleased if one of two of them were in a donated cache.

VHS, Xvid, DVD. The horror. HD is fine for porn. It takes away the bullshit fairytale of perfection in it. Yeah, they're people, too, as ADT reassures its minions, but to score it big in HD porn land, serious requirements have to be met. Optimistically, at least. It should be apparent that there's enough rotten meat creeping around the valley. At least it can be spotted from behind the couch now.

Den treated them equally in the sense that he hated rough sex of any sort, calling all instances of "choking" a girl illegal. If a movie had any choking in it, he would automatically assign his lowest rating. To some, this helped them find such movies easier because they could search them out with ease.

Otherwise, he was liked because he was a nice guy, wasn't trying to bang every broad he came across, and rarely spoke negatively about anyone (certainly not in public). He stood up for friends and helped keep some of the companies honest, not doing it for the money as a "job" as you suggest. Give the guy a break...
