Believe or not, someone emailed it to a long list of people calling for us to boycott.

The person is very mad at me for "Reply All-ing" that maybe they should google such things to test for hoaxs before sending a call to action to their entire address book.

I made allusion to Iraq and WMDs since to be compared to Bush Jr. would really rile her. [as it would anyone with a brain]

And, made a slightly racist reference, about not being her "boy" and shaking the anthrax testtube for her at the UN. It may take her a while, if ever, to get that since I didn't put it in quotes for her.

My mom didn't like my use of the term, though. She caught it right away.

I thought the 800 number being KFC was a nice touch. i.e. "Oh yeah, this isn't Mickey D's but KFC? Well how 'bout the time you ran out of muthafuckin' chicken bitch?"

Meanwhile a contract KFC customer service rep in Bangladesh is scratching her head.

It amazes me that there are people stupid enough to believe that McD's, or any other company that lives or dies by the goodwill of customers, would even consider something like this. Are people just idiots? Or are they so cocked to the pissed off position that they're just desperate for something to be outraged about? Remember the similar Walmart thing a year or so ago? Morons just jumped to the conclusion that the only possible explanation was that Walmart hated coloureds. No other, more plausible explanations. Just the one that was obviously a hoax.

Honestly, I think it's the polarized world we live in that make people jump to conclusions they already believe in. Race. Politics. Religion. Internationalism. The environment.


There are plenty of well-known examples of the other side:

The Boston guy who killed his wife, blamed a black guy and the police went insane.

Susan Smith who said a black guy drowned her kids and got all that sympathy.

That idiot girl that carved a backward B into her cheek [forgetting about the mirror image] and blamed it on an Obama supporter.



Since my politics are all over the map and I'm open to listen to any point of view, I get silliness from ALL extremes. So I get lies about Obama and his ties to Islam and lies about Palin being an Israeli plant and crypto-Jew.

And propaganda telling me McDonalds is supporting Israel's right and propaganda telling me McDonalds is funding survivors of Palestinian suicide bombers.

But, I find that the most gullible and hostile in both camps are women. They get something, anything, get a link or a quote or a picture, and if it fits their conspiracy theories they over-react.


The woman who emailed me is now "banning" me from her spam [YEAH!] and called me a douche for replying all with correction [TOO BAD!!] and said that she still BELIEVES that McD actually did this [or may have been planning to, she's "not exactly sure"] and that action from her and her ilk snuffed it. So There!!


You couldn't write nonsense like this for a book or screenplay and have anyone believe it!

I'm a far right pothead, so I get it from my stoner conspiracy friends and my straight conspiracy friends. With that perspecive I like to think I have a pretty good view of stuff. I guess I always question what the "conspirators" have to gain. Obama's birth certificate, for instance. What gain would come from propping up a political lightweight, hiding his birth in wherever? If this cabal was going to prop up a "neo- Socialist, post- Imperalist, and all the otherist bogeymen" that he supposedly embodies, couldn't they have found one with a clearer pedigree? Espcially if they are so all knowing and seeing? Honestly, I've thought for a long time that it's tactically brilliant of the Obama crowd to not answer the birth certicate thing. It drives the believers insane, plus makes them look like niwits.

I don't know the percentage of customers are coloured at McD's, but I'd imagine it's at fairly high. I mean, who doesn't go to McD's from time to time? Not to mention the probably really high percentage of non- black folks who would be mortified by the sign. You can't tell me for a second that someone in the command chain at McD's corporate wouldn't have said "hey, let's hold our horses here" if a policy change like this go brought up. What they have to gain? Other than just being big meanies, like a growing number of folks in general think business is all about. Like you said, it fits their bias. No matter how outlandish the charge. Even if McD's didn't do this, they wanted to. So, there's no way McD's comes on top, no matter that they did nothing wrong.

By far right, I assume libertarian. Which to me isn't the same thing.



Some companies are just targets for the haters. Disney for the right. Walmart for the left. Wall Street for EVERYONE! [at least since 2008]

I think the woman that sent the McD's thing to me is angry about them injecting cows with some drug and poisoning children with fat [as if the parents who feed the kids the crap are innocents].

And, she's like the mirror opposite of Jigaloo. Any perceived slight of blacks and she goes off [unless that black supports Palestine or denies the Holocaust].

So this fed TWO of her hates.

All you needed was Hamas behind the thing and her head would have exploded.

Pretty liberaterian. Small "l". Very fiscally right wing, and getting more and more socially conservative. I'd talk about it in pm if you'd like, but I'm just not into really getting down and dirty about where my beliefs are at. Transitioning, I guess. Kind of the opposite of your outraged gal. I get outraged, but only when I think something is really damaging to the fabric of civilization. The Giffords shooting shook me up pretty bad, because that's what they do in the 2nd World and lower. But the way everyone on every side had to make hay from it was really really unsettling. I think that was my last time being truly outraged. In my mind, it was a bit bigger of a deal than McD's charging folks extra....especially when it's apparent to anyone with half a brain that it was a hoax.

Being outraged is a lot of work.
