There was a congressman some years ago whose name I can't remember who enjoyed using "niggardly" in congressional meetings. It used to make the nig nogs in the HoR flip out. I guess it was kind of a plausibly deniable fuck you to the likes of Maxine Waters and Charlie Rangel.

This reminds me of when I pissed someone off here by using the word "niggler." I think it was in a Bishop thread, but he wasn't the one who was upset by it. It's a real word and it has nothing to do with race. On the other hand, I do occasionally tell my black friends, "That's might white of you!" Which is definitely racist, but the irony of it makes it somehow not as offensive. It's a thin line.

The one I kind of remember was a city councilman, or school board member or some such thing in DC. He used it in the proper context and it just ballooned out of control. Folks were demanding apologies and his hide, and he seemed sincerely flummoxed by the uproar. idon't remember what the outcome was.

Flummoxed is the word of the day.

Oddly the only person I know that has lived in Alaska is black.

There are black mechanics, plumbers, engineers, doctors, lawyers, educators, and businessmen in Alaska, just as there are in the 49 other states.

I asked a question. You're stating what you believe is a fact. Have you been to Alaska? Can you prove there are negroes in all those fields in Alaska?

I trust the ingenuity and drive of my people. If they are in AK, then I know at least some have made it into professional and respected positions & trades.

Blicks are inferior. Mexicans are higher up on the food chain than them. If you told me there were Mexican doctors, lawyers, etc. in Alaska I'd believe you before I believed there were schwartzas in those positions there.

My perspective is probably a little skewed because most all of my friends up here are black. Most of my white friends moved away after college. Also, growing up, I went to the most "urban" high school. For example, on graduation day, someone spray-painted, "Welcome to NiggerLand!" on the front of the school in huge letters. Plus I'm pretty familiar with situations most white people haven't experienced. Like hanging out kicking it with friends in the living room while someone is giving birth in the bathroom. Anyway, I'm not sure what the actual percentage is demographically. We do have two military bases here, btw.

As far as their occupations, I know a school principal, a carpenter, a personal trainer, a plumber, some social workers, an FBI data processor, a mailman, a janitor, a drug dealer and all sorts of other occupations. Btw, none of them date or marry black women.

3.3% is statewide. The percentage is about double that number for Anchorage. And Anchorage represents about half of the population in Alaska. So if you want to come to Alaska and you don't want to see many black people, the rest of the state is a pretty safe bet.

In one of those Puddin'Head Wilson kind of things, the white side of his family is mostly trust-fund addicts and the black side successful professionals.

The real interesting person is the father. One of the most interesting, complex, thoughtful and charismatic people I've ever met.

Sadly, he's become a caricature who, IMHO, whores himself on the speaking circuit since he's one of the few with inner knowledge of assassinated icons like MLK and Malik Shabazz along with the fact he was targeted by Hoover for taping. Sadly, those people don't get to know him and, in any case, are much more interested in those he had the fortune to know.

The brother is a great guy, but if you've met someone who thinks all of the world's problems can be solved with a tax break on capital gains, you've met him already.
