I use niggardly fairly often. It's priceless when people give me this look like I just fingerbanged their cat.
There was a congressman some years ago whose name I can't remember who enjoyed using "niggardly" in congressional meetings. It used to make the nig nogs in the HoR flip out. I guess it was kind of a plausibly deniable fuck you to the likes of Maxine Waters and Charlie Rangel.
The one I kind of remember was a city councilman, or school board member or some such thing in DC. He used it in the proper context and it just ballooned out of control. Folks were demanding apologies and his hide, and he seemed sincerely flummoxed by the uproar. idon't remember what the outcome was.
Flummoxed is the word of the day.
