Your browser is probably sending referring-page information for embedded images. But when you enter the URL manually I bet no referral information is sent. Could it be a bug? Sometimes I can hit the quote button, then the back button and it shows up. Sometimes I have to do that a few times. Sometimes I just give up and paste the url.
