I didn't say "it's OK" to use racial slurs. I said "Nobody has said you can't use a racial slur": in other words, it's not an automatic ban.

If someone posts a note calling Mr. Marcus a nigger I'd expect a general stoning to take place. Exercising your right to speak freely doesn't mean you can speak without retribution.

Interestingly enough, when I did a search on the word "nigger" it turns out we've had almost no problems with racism of that sort; nearly the only one to use that word much has been ... Sammura. You would be the one to go were use of that racial slur banned!

If racial slurs ever did become a problem something would be done, but for now it seems to me better to allow racist idiots to self-declare in public so that we know who they are and can more easily see who needs ridicule. I don't know of any XXXPT users who are black but I'm sure there are some; no one has ever sent me, as mod, a complaint about racist posts or PMs.
