I don't see Hopkins losing this one, folks....

I don't pay as close attention as I used to with regards to the fight game but if Hopkins' chin is in any way questionable then he might have cause for worry because De La Hoya can punch, or a least he could earlier in his career, and you usually carry the power even as you age.

I don't see Hopkins losing this fight either. He is much bigger then De La Hoya and tougher. Its been a LONG time since his last loss, and De La Hoya has been very questionable lately.

Yeah, Oscar has been slipping fight by fight and the guy doesn't have the killer instinct Bernard Hopkins has fed his hunger for victory with for many undefeated years. The last time Hopkins lost was 8 or more years ago against Roy Jones who looks shaky now since he's been fightin' sub par competition for years as well as ducking Hopkins. When Bernard wins I see the impending fight of the century with Jones...

Keep an eye on the referee for this fight. If it is a guy like Jay Nady, he won't allow Hopkins to bang inside as much and the force the fight to be more a boxing match, which give the advantage to the younger and quciker DLH.
And yet if the referee is a guy like Eddie Cotton, then anything goes which allows Hopkins to use his forearms, head and other dirty tactics.

Just pray the ref is not Frank Cappucino, that guy is awful and I don't understand why they let him ref. All he does is talk and stop the action. I see this fight being Hopkins last BIG time fight before he starts to go downhill. He isn't getting any younger and eventually he has to slide. One last big win and that is it unfortunatly.

Don't worry aboput Frank Caopchino... he never refs any title fights of importance anymore. It will not be Joe Cortez either since Hopkins feels Cortez is out to get him ... either Nady, Cotton, or another top notch ref.

Refs that interfere too much shouldn't stop Hopkins when he's on the top of his game which you can bet on during this cash cow fight that he wants to bank badly. De La Hoya eventually fades in later rounds these days, he's lost 2 BIG fights for cruising in the late rounds when he was winning on the cards. Hopkins can battle with a broken fist and not relent and he proved against Trinidad that he can be tactical to win a fight without always mauling like a criminal. Before he retires Hopkins will want to erase any doubt about if he can beat Roy Jones. jr., which I think he could do if he makes it a brawl where Jones is now rusty because of all those fights against no competition.

Thank god for that. I just hate it when refs try to dictate a fight and overuse their power. Ive been watching boxing during the olympics and man do the refs suck! I know its easier said then done, but man, don't take so long to give warning signals to the fighters, just let them fight! The rounds are only two minutes as it is and half of it is the ref doing sign language

De La Hoya needs to train hard in order to win this fight. The only other fight in memeory where he had fire going into it was against Vargas. If he stays focus,he could win. Otherwise,Hopkins is going to win easily. Its a tough call, but I got to go with Oscar cause he's a local boy.

I didn't see it but I honestly thought DLH would win a decision. Wrong

De La Hoya is so full of himself and his fucking "legacy".

Just take the $30 million and the shot to the liver (courtesy of the executioner Hopkins) and fuck off.

DLH was trying too hard to protect his pretty face and left his body unprotected.

LOl, I reckon he'll have a lot more time to devote to his tv show and other such things outside boxing from now on.
