Fat, get a Google Voice account. It's free and you can forward unanswered calls there and then when someone leaves a voice mail, it sends you an email with a transcription of the message and a button you can click to play the audio recording.

I hate checking voicemail too, but then I'm like, "fuck, I haven't checked voicemail in 2 weeks! What if I missed something important?". Then, I still don't check the voicemail... For whatever reason, getting emails for voicemails makes it so much easier for me.
