I wrote this to the Macy's corporate as a praise and not as a complaint that I frequently do. Basicaly I got a $275.00 cashmere blend Kenneth Cole coat for $32.00:
"I would like praise the actions of the associate Neela from the Men's Coats department. I was looking to buy a coat yesterday at the Macy's Herald Square, and one of the coats that was on sale caught my eye, and the price was right as well, so I got it and headed to the counter to pay for it. When another saleswoman scanned the coat, she told me that the price is higher than what was said on the pricing flag that was fixed to the top of the merchandising fixture. I told her that the price should be lower, but she insisted and said that some other customer has hanged it on the wrong merchandising fixture rack, so I declined the purchase, chose not to argue about the pricing issue and went to investigate this matter. When I scanned the barcode through the self-service price scanner the price indeed was higher in the system than the advertised price. I then went back to the merchandising fixture and found that there were over 10 coat of this same style hanging from the 2 sides of the merchandising fixture rack (4 sides). I went back again to the counter and the previous saleswoman was not there, but saleswoman/associate Neela was there. I pointed this issue out and explained what has happened before, she agreed with me about the pricing issue and said that she will adjust the price to the advertised price. She also took and scanned the coupon for 20% off that was mailed to me through the mail. Associate Neela did what was right: she adjusted the price to the one that was advertised on the rack fixture price flag and she did not tried to argue about this. If all Macy's store associates would be like Neela, and would all do what is right (that is to honor the advertised prices, and not argue about it) then a lot more customers would be happy about their store experience and would not feel cheated.
